Very few vlogs on those areas. Tips on Cali visit: The Amtrak train has a good coastal route between San Diego and L.A. if you want a way to see the coast without driving hassle but just make sure the track is open cause it closes a lot for maintenance. Also from L.A. highly recommend a day trip to Catalina island. You won't regret it.

Great to see you again, Hannah! I went to the Attendant Coffee Shop when I was in London in August of 2022. It was a quieter time of day and like you, I liked the interior...and yet, you are constantly reminded that it was once a urinal. Anyway, besides the lattes, the pastries are also outstanding there and I highly recommend it. I did accidentally try to leave without paying (I forgot!) and the barista had to chase me down. I was embarrassed but he was so sweet about it. I think he was the barista in the background in your video. Very nice guy!

Dear Hannah, I have been living in SoCal for over 20 years. Can definitely recommend Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Yosemite national Park, Napa Valley ( Castello di Amorosa is my fave castle for wine tasting), Mendocino and Redwood forest. Can not recommend LA and SanFran…. The amount of homeless living in tents is ridiculous. So glad that you are back. I am going to London again in 20 days… I can’t wait. Love being in England.

To be fair, experiencing the homeless in LA and SF gives a true California experience. As someone who has been in the SB area for a couple of years and doesn’t know much about central coast outside of Pismo and Morro: what can you recommend in SLO? For Hannah I would say Big Sur and Monterrey over Solvang/SLO/Morro if I’m being honest.

When you go to California and you like outdoors, I would highly recommend Yosemite. It is breathtaking. Same with Muir Woods. I have been to both several times. If going to San Francisco, do not leave anything in your car. Break ins are so common there. Loved this video!! I wanted to go to Attendant when we were in town, but we ran short on time. 😢

Welcome back from S. Cal! If you're coming here, I would highly suggest avoiding LA as it's really gross now and quite unpleasant (same with San Fran). If you want to visit LA, stick to West LA: The Getty Center Museum (on the hill above the 405 freeway) is beautiful as is Malibu. The Getty VILLA is the sister museum of the Getty Center and houses older artifacts and is the Getty summer villa above PCH (where you can find lovely restaurants). It has amazing grounds but it's much smaller (I like it better than the huge white Center). Paradise Cove Beach restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway is LOVELY as you can sit at tables ON the sand. =) A bit pricey, but lovely. We went there after going to the Getty Villa with my sister and brother-in-law. The Queen Mary and Long Beach (historic area has shops, restaurants, and historic homes). Old Town Pasadena: lots of shops and restaurants (I recommend the Green Street Restaurant). Some pretty architecture. There's also Huntington Library and Gardens you should visit--historic house, huge grounds of various gardens from tropical, to Japanese, to desert and a huge rose garden. They have a newly remodeled tea house too. Their literary collection includes a Guttenberg Bible and some Medieval manuscripts plus whatever else they have on current exhibition. The neighborhood it's in is San Marino and BEAUTIFUL. Points North: Ventura Beach just up the 126. The downtown is pedestrian friendly with lots of shops and restaurants and on of the 27 or so old Mexican Missions established in CA back in the 1700's. At the pier you there's a fantastic restaurant called Erickson's Fish Co's Beach House Fish (they do have non-fish items) and upstairs Madewell Brewery with amazing views of the beach and ocean. We love it. Get there at sunset. =) What we call the Central Coast: San Luis Obispo is a lovely college town (used to live there), but for a lovely nature day out: Montana De Oro with incredible cliffs at the beach and lots of walking paths. Solvang is a Danish town with lots of shops and wine tasting rooms and beer gardens too. BEAUTIFUL! Also, Hearst Castle, Cambria, and Cayucos are all lovely and up the 101 highway. Points South: Newport Beach and Fashion Island San Diego which you're likely familiar with. Take care!

Great run down on California. I second the areas to stayaway from, they are still bad. Adding to Southern Calif. If you are in Newport Beach, check out Crystal Cove (even better if you can grab one of the shacks for a night), Balboa Island head across the ferry and rent a duffy for an hour to really see the bay. Head south to Laguna Beach, depending on timing there are great art festivals.

Places to visit in California, Hog Island Oysters in San Francisco Napa Valley Wine 🍷 Tasting Yountville, Ca is a must, great restaurants! Coqueta is a delicious Spanish tapas restaurant in SF!!! Newport Beach, in Southern California is a beautiful place to visit! Nobu is an amazing place to eat in the afternoon. Laguna Beach is gorgeous in the Spring/summer time. If you’re an adventurous diner, “OC Và Lâu,” in Garden Grove, California has delicious Vietnamese small plates, their specialty are escargots!!! The grilled abalone is a must!!!! Back to San Francisco, San Ho Wan is the best Korean restaurant you’ll ever visit. The Ferry Plaza is large indoor market with a lot of great food and coffee, including Blue Bottle Coffee. Great wines to buy, and cheese 🧀!!!! Such as Cowgirl Creamery. South Coast Plaza is a gorgeous Mall for shopping in Orange 🍊 County, California.

I’ve lived in Southern California all my life..San Diego county area. Driving not too bad here. San Diego City streets are one way, so can get a bit confusing. The Freeways can be up to 8 lanes one way, so be prepared. Usually while staying in any large City in the USA, we fly in and get an uber to the local locations…or a “hop on hop off bus”….really better than trying to find parking…which if your hotel has it, will be an added expense. California is huge…The California coast is fabulous, but extremely congested and busy in Southern Ca. The Amtrak train system travels along the coast, is fairly reasonable, always go business class. I’ve travelled from San Diego to Disneyland on the Amtrak…much nicer than trying to drive. If you sign up as an Amtrak member, you get perks and points for the miles you travel. Also discount fares are offered, or two for one deals. Northern California. is entirely different. The Redwood highway along the coast is an enchantment not to be missed..Big Sur costal area south of San Francisco and Carmel-or Pebble Beach are quaint beach cities. The Best Western Hotel systems are everywhere and offer great deals/discounts to members…like stay at 2 destinations nights and get the third night free.. or cash back…..Their hotels are middle of the road, but usually very clean and offer breakfast..sometimes hot and plentiful, or more meager fare. Have fun glad you are back…missed your entertaining channel..🌸
