Selfridges £10 Challenge | Luxury on a budget?

I remember years ago going into Selfridges and a lady on the make up counter asked if I’d like a free make over. I refused telling her that I couldn’t afford their products. She smiled and said go on , no pressure to buy anything. I said ok. Not only did she give me a lovely make over. Subtle and elegant but she gave me a Chanel carrier bag with loads of samples, eye shadows, lipsticks and half a dozen perfume samples. Made my day.

Honestly, giving yourself a budget of 10 to 50 pounds and going into a store to pick whatever catches your eye that fits into that budget can be lots of fun nowadays (with the crazy prices). It lessens the pressure of wondering if you're going to be able to afford whatever you like!

Don't pay any attention to the negative nancies, Hannah! I think this is a really fun and harmless challenge, in fact I do this with Harrods, Selfridges etc. online too. It's just interesting seeing what a certain amount of money can get you. I find that for a 20 pounds you can get pretty decent things (at least online). And I love your commentary so much, you manage a great balance of admiring things and taking the piss off where it's due (I feel like most of us would go "I could make that!" at that weird bag, lol).

I would only say that it would be incredibly difficult to improve upon perfection. This was a charming and clever premise. Well done you. When I was just a kid my grandmother would always give my sister and I an envelope of “pocket money.” Gifted at the start of a vacation the envelope often consisted of a ten, five, and five ones. That’s USD. Oh, the ache of that small fortune. I learned early on if I saw something I really wanted I bought it. My sister was far more calculating and would guard her $20 until the last possible moment. Great video! 👍

I have bleached hair Hannah and have been using Label M Diamond Dust shampoo and conditioner, it keeps my hair in great condition. I live in a hard water area and this shampoo/ conditioner combo has been a life saver.

Hannah love London I stayed in their YMCA in 1983.....For😢 people from South Africa its super expensive! It's the accommodation that's so expensive! Candlesticks are the same prices here in Montreal as well.They are 75$ sold in a store called linen chest where you find drapery,table runners,electronic appliances for the kitchen,vases,pottery for the dining room & much more stuff for the bathroom & bedrooms

Great video! We took our grandkids to England for Christmas and they each had 100 quid. Funny thing was both girls had spent time on website and made a game plan. They spent 10.00 quid at each store. I was truly impressed considering they are stores that you regularly vlog.

Hi Hannah, you ( and anyone else) will need to try the original Tim Tams! They are the best ones in my opinion. As they were 4.50 in pounds converted to Australian dollar is around $8.50 Australian. They are on sale this week- so converted for you would make them 1.31 pounds a packet. The "regular" price would be 2.63 pounds. And for any US people - that is $1.65 US per packet. Fun vlog. Love the idea of a £10 challenge. I used to do a £10😮 charity shop Christmas present challenge with friends. How about filming a Primark £10 challenge lol! You could get an entire outfit. I would have bought the shortbread tin with Charles on as a joke birthday gift for a dear old friend who is anti royalist. He's used to me buying him commemorative cups and plates, hates them, is amused by them, and they are not wasted. His artist daughter sweeps them up. She loves them and uses them.
