What a great idea for a video! Loved seeing the techniques all together, perfect for beginners, and actually I have a tip to share if I may. Last time I did an acrylic paint gradient it wore away really fast at the tip showing the polish underneath. Now I'd always recommend that the colour you sponge on at the tip of your nail in paint, is the same as the base polish. Therefore if it wears away you'll see the same colour underneath. Wait..have I explained that right? Does it make sense? Hope so 😕

That's really good advice because mine always wear at the tips much more with acrylic too. Regardless of the top and base coats I use I have found

It's much easier to use it on a sponge if you put the polish at an edge or corner. Makes lining it up so easy and you get many more uses out of each sponge.

It would be easier to apply the glittery polish to the sponge because that way the sponge absorbs all the nail polish and just remain the glitter layer

aciidxgirl You can do it with a sponge as well but in this video I was showing all the different ways to make a gradient just in case someone may not have a sponge around :)

how do you clean your sponges? i've read that you should clean them immediately, so the sponge won't harden for the next time. but if i'd use nail polish remover right after, my nails would be a mess, so i'd have to do them again and be caught in a loop for the rest of my days :-/

+steuerrad Just get a ton of round make-up sponges for like 2$ from the store and throw them away after each use. What I do is cut my round sponges into quarters, and then use the flat edges from where you just cut, and use those for gradients. Then you can just snip off a tiny bit of the sponge with some scissors since it'll likely dry up quickly, and continue on. You should get a few manicures out of a single sponge this way.

Its only ok when you have a nail polish base underneath the acrylic. Acrylic paint and plastic are made of the same thing (acrylic lol) but pure acrylic nails (no polish base) wont let the nails breathe resulting in (ew!) fungus... So yea! Hope this helped

NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! Use nail laquer thinner. OPI makes it, but a lot of other brands make it too.
