Agreed. One reviewer said that FONV had the better story, but that FO4 was the better FPS; I might be inclined to agree. Loved FONV's story. As far as DLCs go, I thought "Dead Money" was a bit long and repeti4 after a while, and "Honest Hearts" was, quite frankly, boring IMHO. "Old World Blues" was a bit boring, but offset by the humorous banter between the "scientists" who stole your brain (and spine, and heart). "Lonesome Road," on the other hand, was worth the trouble; it had a good story, it was engaging, and fairly challenging.

I think the coolest parts about the Fallout games are the little background bits of information you can unlock when you explore the worlds. Many of the locations have terminals that describe workplace discrimination, or disgruntled workers, and the more you dig the more you see how people reacted as the world started to fall apart. You can discover other vaults, and most of the vaults you discover you find had hidden agendas. Almost all of them ran experiments on the inhabitants, often ending with cataclysmic conclusions. It's so fascinating to see a post-nuclear world that kinda fits our line of thought.
@Ferdawoon2 жыл бұрын
The overaching story for Fallout4 (this is all explained in the first 20min of gameplay so no spoilers) is about you escaping the Nukes (you see people huddling on an elevator with the mushroom cloud in the background, that's from the intro/tutorial). As you are sent down into the Vault for safety you are instead Cryogenically frozen and you wake up, still locked in your pod, to see your partner's pod be opened, your baby taken and your partner shot for trying to protect the child. As you then wake up properly, with the machine letting you out your mission is to find out who where your child is, who took it and bring the baby back. (Medium-level spoilers but nothing major about the main story) During your travels you will encounter various factions (and human settlements) that are all not very fond of each other. You will get to know them and as they give you their reasoning for doing as they do and about their convictions, you either like or dislike them. * The Institute - Is the boogeyman of the story. Hiding in the Shadows they make Synthetic Humans (Synths for short). These synthetic humans that are now so advanced that you cannot see if it is a human or robot until they are dead and you can look inside. For the people living in the world it is horrible as they have seen friends and family be replaced with Synths. Imagine your son getting killed by an animal and you find a Synth component on his body, realizing at some point the Institute snatched your Son away and replaced him with a robot.. Their new robots are so advanced they barely know themselves if they are Humans or Robots. The Player face the dilemma of seeing selfconcious humanoids being treated as Slaves and if one tries to escape they just bring it back and wipe its memory and make a factory reset. They are very much for the advancement of technology with little reflection to if it is ethical or not. * The Railroad - named after the railroad used by Slaves back in the days to escape the Southern states and get into the free northern states. They help find Synths who want out of The Institute as they see the Synths as being Humans (Robot or not, they are human enough). They then ferry these Synths to places where they can opt to have their memories wiped and given a new persona basically making them forget they are a robot and think they are a human. * The Brotherhood of Steel - Runs around in cool Power Armor and wields heavy guns. They collect all pre-war tech, stockpiliing, analyzing and then hiding it away. Even if it could help humanity advance, they fear that pre-war tech in the wrong hands will lead to another nuclear holocaust so better safe than sorry and keep all Tech hidden. Since they are not fans of advanced Tech in general they are not very fond of The Institute and they believe Synths are abominations that must be exterminated. The Railroad are not fond of the Brotherhood's view of Synths. * The Minute Men - A grassroots militia made up of volunteers that help keep the "regular" people and settlers safe from Raiders, mutated animals, Ghouls and other bad stuff. So towards the end, you as a player is forced to make a choice. Which of these factions do YOU side with, with the result that your chosen faction try to wipe out the others. Sure The Institute is pretty much replacing Humans with Synthetic Humans and enslaving self-aware humanoids, but their tech is so advanced, their medicine is much more developed and they could really save humanity. The Brotherhood has the firepower but with them hoarding and lcoking away Tech they will keep Humanity back and force people to re-invent the wheel at every stage of progress. So it is a moral dilemma which faction to choose! Or you can do what I did and do the main story, while skipping the faction specific quests simply because I cannot choose between them!
@jamesevanston83342 жыл бұрын
Great run down. imho I don't see what the problem is with who to side with in the game. I side with the Institute my opinion is hated by some but hear me out. The Minute Men will be with you no matter what you decide(main game only). The BOS must go if you want to improve the Commonwealth since they will halt any advanced tech development they find, not to mention they are taking food and supplies from the people with out proper compensation. The Railroad doesn't have the means to do anything that would help the Commonwealth and have no plans or ideas to do so. The Institute have every you need, the synths are just machines, the fact that they have a "reset button" proves it. They are developing crops and animals to survive the harsh environment and are testing the plants at the Warwick Homestead. The only replacements you can find are far and few, (and you would have to kill them to find out in game). There are 4 replacements or 5 if you count Danse(I don't, he's not from the Commonwealth) and they are Mayor McDonough(Diamond City), Sturges(Quincy), Magnolia(Goodneighbor), Mr. Warwick(Warwick Home stead). So one from each of the Major settlements and one at their test site(decided to replace since he was an alcoholic and an abusive husband and father). I should add that we aren't given enough back story of the first 3 to know if they are replacements or if they showed up as a synth in the first place. The "raiding" parties sent by them are controlled by Justin Ayo, whom you can get rid of if you want to, but they never "raid" settlements(with one exception and that's all on Mr. Ayo) and are gathering supplies and power from old buildings. Here's the kicker, Father dies, and You become the head of the Institute and can now start helping to clean up the Commonwealth and providing more resources and technology.
@Ferdawoon2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesevanston8334 Oh I agree that The Institute are actually developed enough to give humanity a fighting chance. But they are also behaving in ways that are not quite... well.. As with the Synths that are so lifelike that you don't know if a person is "real" or a Synth until they are dead and you can rummage around their innards. It is clearly written as a slavery allegory. The Synths are not Robots in the way we currently think with Roombas going around vacuuming or cutting the lawn. It is very much a Bladerunner scenario. Robots developing sentiense but they are still robots. When are robots "human" enough to be considered people and included in out Human Rights clauses? Is it ethical to put someone in work camps simply because they are constructed in a lab? My point is that this game contains a LOT of heavy subjects if you take your time to reflect on it. I know I don't give it the time needed and since it is a Game I can just look at the list of loot available to me and choose from that with zero thoughts to other consequences. But it is interesting to consider all these ethical dilemmas. As you say, comparing the Institute with The Railroad which is pure ideology, wishful thinking and no real plans for the future of the world of humankind. The Minute Men are understaffed, lacking weaponry and experience and one corrupt leader away from becoming a new Raider Gang, the Brotherhood of Steel that strongarms their way in and requesting "Donations" from local food producing farms while hiding any technological advancement which will keep humanity stuck in the Mad Max post-apocalyptic state it is currently in. I wish there were more cutscenes or better and more condensed videos that we could suggest for Hannah to have a look at, but pretty much all of it is done in the game itself.. I would love to suggest Oxhorns videos but he includes all the exploring and showing where special loot is which is pointless for explaining how the Vault Experiments worked, the moral and ethical dilemmas of the choices you do in the game.

@@Ferdawoon In FO4 the Institute know's who the synths are, you as the protagonist don't know and for you, killing them is the only way to know. Remember the Gabriel mission at Libritaria. He's a "product" of the Railroad and your sent to bring him back and end his reign of terror. In Bladerunner(Great book(Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, by Philip K. Dick) and movie) there is no easy way of knowing so it is much more of a gray area. I do agree that it's a subjective thing for you to play as you want and create your "own" story. I just love the game and "story" and enjoy friendly discussions of the game and it's lore(over 4k hours game play). There is also the existence of the "Fallout bible" written by the original team, but watching someone read is a boring video. I think she pretty much "gets it" and she is an author, not a gamer. As for Oxhorn... He shadow banned me for correcting the mistakes he makes in his videos. btw in Bladerunner, I'd side with the replicants.

As fallout is my favorite game franchise, I'm gonna spend some time setting up.. Well.. A lot of plot points that build the world, and might help you understand the story. There's is a lot to cover, so without a further adue... {Pre-1940's/50's} The world seemed to be normal, and in sinc with our world. The declaration of independence was signed in 1776, people enjoyed the works of Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby, and the world, I'll be it with all it's flaws, seemed to be at peace. That was until... {The Divergence} The divergence seemed to be a.. Well, divergence in the fallout universe, where it finally split into it's own universe. The exact date is not known but is believed to have happened around the 1940's/early 1950's, where several changes happened. We began to use atomic energy as a main source of power instead of a weapon, and the rapid miniaturization of computers was not prioritized; which in result, things like digital computers are all reel-to-reel tape types that take up lots of space, and we favored vacuum tubes over transistors, which was one of the many things that gave fallout it's AWESOME and distinct retro-futuristic style. {The Resource Wars} America eventually crashed, however, as 25 years worth of conflicts arrived in the 21st century. Many of these battles were about the shortages of resources such as Petrolatum and Uranium, the former provided not just fuel fore vehicles (Gasoline, diesel, and other forms of refined fuel) but also plastics, fertalizers, medicine, and millions of other applications. The latter was an essential ingredient for nuclear fision, which provided a crap ton of power world wide. When demand outstripped supply, the situation began to deteriorate rapidly, leading to resurgence of nationalism and protectionism. The United Nations soon proved powerless to prevent hostilities, as the U.S invaded Mexico in 2051, after a stringe of economic sanctions destabilized the country. Citing political instability and pollution as a threat to national security, the U.S's intervention lead ensured that petroleum would continue making it's way north (At mexico's expense...) In hindsight, this was the first instance that engulfed the world not just in war, but in an agonizing nuclear fire. Ironically it did little to prop the economy of the U.S with the energy crisis hitting the nation hard, entering the popular consciousness after television documentary withered tusks of Texas oil fields sitting idly, with no oil left to pump.... {Sino-American War} Nuclear fusion would finally appear in 2066, as an offshoot of power armor research projects initiated by the United States military in August 2065. With generous funding and near-limitless resources, the first crude fusion cell would be unveiled to the world shortly after the United States declared that it would not trade fossil fuels with any foreign nation. The great communist power was heavily dependent on fossil fuels and oil exports from America could have alleviated its energy crisis, preventing its collapse. As the United States began incorporating fusion power into its infrastructure and economy, the desperate Chinese leadership decided to play everything on one card: Instead of accepting collapse, they decided to invade Alaska and seize the United States' oil reserves by force. In December 2066, China invaded Alaska, turning the Anchorage Front Line into a true battleground. Reeling from the blows, the United States was unable to respond in kind. Canadian reluctance to permit U.S. military units to cross its soil and airspace hampered the ability to reinforce their front line units. Canada eventually backed down, setting the stage for its annexation ten years down the road. To bolster its units, the military ordered its defense contractors to produce any working power armor. West Tek was the first to achieve success, with the first suit of T-45 power armor deploying to the front in 2067. The stopgap model lacked mobility, but was capable of carrying heavy weapons into combat as small arms, greatly increasing the firepower of a single soldier. China rushed to create its own versions, but was many years behind the United States. However, the power armor did not become the trump card the U.S. hoped for, and the war would degenerate into a decade-long war of attrition, plagued by inclement warfare, trench warfare, and countless atrocities on both sides of the conflict, up to and including the use of biological weapons. Others became collateral damage in the titanic struggle, especially Canada: By 2069, it became Little America to many U.S. citizens, with its natural resources liberally exploited for the war effort with no compensation provided and protests going unheard {Canada's Annexation} Reduced to a colony of the American empire, Canada attempted to resist. By 2072, the rampant devastation of Canadian ecosystems culminated in rioting across Canada and attempted sabotage of the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline. The United States swiftly responded with military action, setting in motion the annexation of Canada. Over the next five years, Canada would become an occupied territory under military government, exploited for its resources and strategic location. The aggressive use of biological weapons by China would also prompt a response from the United States, taking the form of the Pan-Immunity Virion project in 2073, meant to create a general immunizing agent against enemy biological weapons. The project would eventually lead to the creation of the Forced Evolutionary Virus, one of the most important mutagenic factors in the history of the world. However, the most important element of the escalation came in 2074, when the United States invaded China, hoping to destabilize its war effort by opening a second front in Asia. However, long supply lines and adverse conditions on the mainland quickly end the hopes of American commanders of forcing a swift resolution to the conflict. Fighting in Alaska and Asia would bring no conclusion beyond mounting casualties for the next two years. The situation would steadily degenerate on fronts domestic and foreign, with civil rights eroding in the face of seemingly endless war. In 2076, the annexation of Canada would culminate in the total occupation of Canadian territories and open violence perpetrated against protestors and resistance fighters as American units swarmed across the nation. The completion of the T-51 power armor that same year helped turn the tide of the war, with its superior performance and combat efficiency putting immense pressure on the Chinese forces, causing it to crumble on all fronts, with resources and supply lines from annexed nations stretched beyond the breaking point. However, the United States suffered from a deteriorating domestic situation, with food shortages leading to riots across the nation in August. The situation was further aggravated by the deteriorating labor situation, especially in Appalachia, where automation displaced thousands of workers, leaving them unable to support their families. The government and the military retaliated by declaring a state of martial law, turning the United States into a de facto dictatorship. {The Great War} The path to the Great War started in January 2077, with the completion of the Anchorage Reclamation on January 28. Troops were swiftly redeployed to China and across the nation to contain the riots and enforce the order. In other words, veterans of Alaska were sent into the fray once more or turned on the very citizens they were supposed to protect. Suffering from depleted manpower, the United States was forced to shutter many of its mainland bases, turning them into automated defense forts and sending their garrisons into the meat grinder in Asia. Desertions also mounted, particularly among troops sent to contain the riots. By March, the last President of the United States retreated from the White House, along with dozens of other future members, to a Poseidon Energy oil rig near San Francisco in order to prepare for the impending doom, and to create what would become known as the Enclave. The society unraveled steadily, aided by the greed of the military-industrial complex. In Appalachia, already reeling from the widespread automation enforced by local companies, the heavy-handed behavior of Atomic Mining Services and Poseidon Energy led to violence between workers, corporate enforcers, and the National Guard. The Automation riots that engulfed much of West Virginia demanded the opportunity to work and were mercilessly crushed by a combination of National Guardsmen and private security, in a dark echo of the Coal Wars more than 150 years earlier. In Massachusetts, martial law, food riots, and paranoia plagued the area around Washington D.C fared better, only having food riots to worry about. Finally, by October, it seemed to many that the United States had entered a war it could not win, with the Boston Bugle deeming the situation the "Atomic Ultimatum," citing that billions of dollars, millions of lives, and countless resources had not only been used but wasted, over the course of the last decade. The riots coincided with the final offensive of the United States against China, which brought upon an end of the Resource Wars by way of total nuclear war.... This is all before any of the games... Kind of.. I'll cover a little bit of each game in a reply to this comment, but right now my wrists need to rest. Oh, and before I go, have a fan-fucking-tastic day or night, my friend, because you'll never know if it'll be your last.. 😊

Yeah so DLC is pretty much additional content created for an already released video game. DLC started in the mid 1990's with expansion packs adding new maps to games. DLC can range from an item or outfit pack which adds a few new items to the game, Witcher 3 for example had a bunch of free outfit and hair DLC to a small questline like we see with Fallout 4's Automatons a few hour long DLC adding some new locations to the main map along with outfits, weapons, and robot creation. We also have the larger DLC featuring new locations outside of the main map filled with quests, characters, and items such as Far Harbor which took us to Maine to Nuka World which is located somewhere West of Boston. Game companies tend to release the smaller DLC first and the finally the big large DLC as one final send off. You also have Stand Alone Downloadable games such as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (Built off Far Cry 3) and Red Dead Undead Nightmare (Built off Red Dead Redemption 1) both are build over the same engine/codebase as the main game but cost less and feature a whole new story with Blood Dragon featuring a whole new setting and character. If your looking for a game to try/play on your channel - Journey or What Remains Of Edith Finch both do interesting things with storytelling and gameplay. An expansion is usually provided by the game maker. An expansion may be considered a DLC. Usually includes extra gameplay, features, and or quest. There's also MODS. A mod is usually made by 'us' in the gaming community. Short for modify, it usually changes or adds a feature. Sometimes adding a character, quest, follower, etc. Large mods are also considered DLC.

2:08 Yeah, you can play as a girl in all of the Fallout games :) The Fallout games are roleplaying games so you can make up your own backstory if you want and so on, but not so much in Fallout 4. That game is a little less Roleplaying since the guy/girl you play as talk (for the first time in the series) and their backstory is already set when you start the game unlike in the other games where you can basically make your own up, like I said :)

The trailers were, in order: - Fallout 4 (the base game). - Automatron DLC trailer: A mid-sized questline with a new robot companion and the ability to make more robots. - Contraptions DLC trailer: Added substantially more items for your settlements (the base building part of the game). - Far Harbor DLC trailer: A major DLC with a new landmass/map, questlines, a new companion and new armors and weapons, as well as new creatures/enemies. Also included more settlement assets to build with. - Nuka World teaser (short clip with the rad roach and panning then up to the Nuka World entrance). - Nuka World DLC trailer: A major DLC with a new landmass/map, questlines, a new companion and new armors and weapons, as well as new creatures/enemies and with more settlement building stuff as well. I quite like that they switched between the male and female protagonist in the base trailer. Gives the customer a taste of what the voices are like, and adds a nice twist of variety to it.

Speaking of the Radroach. I was exploring a dark abandoned Supermutant infested department store called Fallon's. In amongst the mannequins, dishwashers, ovens, and trash. I noticed a surfboard hanging on the wall as I walked past it. I had just enough time to think "Wait... I've never noticed surfboards in the game bef......" it jumped down off the wall, and attacked me. Fallout 4 Radroaches get big. Very BIG. lol

To add to your gamer lingo DLC is downloadable content, add-ons to games (usually for money) that either increase what the engine can do, add new enemies, or tell a mini story within the main game or after it. That first one automotan added the ability to play and a story from a robots perspective, the second added housing functionality.
@kurtsurban20812 жыл бұрын
Okay so here's a basic rundown on each DLC Automatron - The Mechanist is an in-universe comic book character who uses robots to save people, and now a person is using the identity of the hero to launch their crusade in the Commonwealth with their robots. The DLC lets you customize robots no matter how absurd it might look. Far Harbor - A small fishing island near the Commonwealth is home to the town of Far Harbor, who live in constant threat of what lurks in their swamp, and are currently in a cold war with a group of fanatical zealots known as the Church of Atom, who worship radiation and nuclear weaponry. Contraptions - A purely workshop one, this just lets the player have more advanced creations and contraptions for their settlements like animal cages, better traps, etc. Nuka World - Nuka - Cola is the in-universe version of Coca-Cola, and is very popular even in the post apocalypse. The giant amusement park was their way of advertising and showing how much Nuka - Cola had become part of their culture. Now it is occupied by the malfunctioning robots, mutated creatures further mutated with the radiation and Nuka - Cola, and finally, the 3 Raider Gangs and their slaves who call that place home. A unique twist they added in this DLC is that while you can choose to eliminate the gangs, you can also lead them, and take over settlements in the Commonwealth by force.

One of the basic assumptions about the Fallout series is that the people in charge -- government, business, whatever -- whenever they had a chance to make things worse for everyone, they took it. Especially if it made them some money in the process. Part of the trick to Fallout is that you, as your character, has a basic choice: do you try to make things better, or do you just fall in with the crowd in a huge game of "screw you, I'm looking out for myself."

In my opinion, Fallout XXX is pure sarcasm. And people today are not AS bad as they are in the post apocalyptic Wasteland... In the Wasteland there is Radiation - driving people insane... there is danger - making people afraid - so they cling to the "strong" ones - the most insane ones. Because strong levels of addiction and/or insanity may overwrite permanent fear. So people become a bit worse than they are today. You can always ask important questions... What is right? What is wrong? What is the value of life? Of community? And many more.

So far you're batting a hundred on the gamer knowledge now; DLC stands for Downloadable Content or like you said, an expansion, some trailers are made to entice new players while others for the current fanbase, and so long as you consider playing a game a valid and fun way to pass the time when you're bored, then you are in fact a gamer! There's a third type of trailer, and that's the announcement/teaser trailer. Those trailers are a free license for developers to just go nuts and make a crazy CGI trailer that may or may not (usually not) have anything to do with what the game actually is or is about and then they just slap the logo and name at the end and people are hyped. One such example that you have watched is the Dead Island trailer. Remember the one with the girl and everything is going backwards and it's very dramatic and sad? Well the game is nothing like that, it's upbeat and humorous. Those shenanigans are not even exclusive to announcement/teaser trailers, but it's more common there. Video game trailers are often like that, they rarely portray what it's actually like playing the game, it's all about building hype.

Expansions is perfect word. Everything that you download(free or pay) optionaly this is a DLC. These can be, for example, new outfits. Weapons pack. Increasing the limits of character development. Adding a new color palette to customize something in the game. But they can be fully story-driven expansions. OOO a simple example for Skyrim. Skyrim has 3 big dlc. Dawnguard: Adds an ancient vampire storyline. This DLC adds some new locations to the game. But most of the story takes place on the map from the base game. There are new weapons, spells, the ability to become a vampire. Dragonborn: Adds a whole new island to the game. A completely separate location with its own large map. And dozens of smaller locations. Everything, of course, with its own story. Again, new spells, new items. Possibility to ride on dragons ... Hearthfire: It's the smallest. Allows you to buy 3 sites in Skyrim where you can build your house. Which appearance depends on the presets we choose. For this you can adopt a child. And that's it. No storyline, no new items. In addition, in older versions of the game on steam, it was possible to download higher-quality textures. So the game simply looked nicer. And this is DLC. But unlike the previous 3, this pack was free.

In the original game, they were just going to use real world brands, but the realization they'd face lawsuits made them come up with a bunch of fake brand names. "Nuka cola" became the main soda of that world. Other changes had to be made, like not being able to reference real world drugs due to the ratings boards of certain countries. One of the major themes of fallout is capitalism to the extreme, and how that led to the world being the way it is. The newer games( fallout 3 and 4) still express these themes, but it almost feels like a parody of itself and less self aware than the originals (they were made by different companies). Still one of my favorite franchises though, it's filled to the brim with interesting lore and world building.
@poslednisoud2 жыл бұрын
Well, the idea is atomic energy was everywhere before the war and so versatile there could harmlessly put radioactive material into drinks to spice them up. Nuka Cola was the most popular so they built an amusement park that was taken over by bandits after the war which gives it the weird contrast between corporate cheer and nuclear ruin. It's not like they were so pumped about the nukes they made park for them after the war.

Just some notes for you: DLC = DownLoadable Content aka expansions to the game. And the Fallout series is a post-apocalyptic series set in an alternate reality US after a nuclear war between the US and China following earlier wars among the european nation-states, mostly over resources. On October 23, 2077 the bombs fall and the US and China are nuked pretty liberally, and it takes a few years before people even come out of their shelters and find that things are destroyed, mutated, and deadly. Your job in all of the games is to find a way to survive and save your vault, village, or family, or in New Vegas, to get vengeance. So yeah, they're bleak and violent with a very dark sense of humor. :)

I know I'm late for this video, but I had to get in your channel to see it! So, context: Synths are synthetic humans, human looking robots. One of Fallout 4's main theme is humanity's paranoia with synths, not being able to tell them apart and considering then a threat... and many synths hiding their identity out of fear or not knowing that they are. Lots of social commentary here. The institute is what's left of the MIT, they have crazy sci-fi tech and live underground, safe from radiation. They consider people on the surface "unclean" and inferior and they make synths for labor, which they treat like garbage. The guy in the big coat is the leader of the Brotherhood of Steel, a militaristic faction obsessed with getting rid of the institute and synths all together. Problematic in their own right. The guy with the nice hat is a Minuteman, and one of the few genuinely nice people. He just wants to protect common folk. And yes, you can play as a girl. You make your own character. And you can also pet the dog.

Fallout 4, or "Bring me my son!" Followed by "Now let me murder him and his dreams of the future!" With a fair amount of "Oh cool there's a bunch of scrap with screws and gears here that I just got to have! Now what was I doing?" And finally "There's another settlement that needs your assistance, here I'll mark it on your map." Far Harbor, the good DLC worth the cost with a great story and some hard decisions Nuka World, the DLC that might be worth the cost but you don't get the full value unless you play as a bad guy, unless you really wanted to be in a massive one sided battle where you were the one man against multiple armies Automatron, the DLC that you picked up because you liked the Silver Shroud and thought it was an extension of that questline, except you also get robots, lots and lots of robots Vault Tec and Contraptions, when you just wanted some more junk to build at settlements and it was on a great sale, because face it these were junk items that should have been in the base game.

Hannah.... Fallout is a series based in an "alternative reality" where the ColdWar was HOT instead. You've only seen the surface! The LORE of it all, might be more than you can handle playing. Throughout the series, there's two predominant factions. The Brotherhood of Steel, and The Enclave. But so much more than that is in the games.
@toddabbott7812 жыл бұрын
You should play Fallout 4... It is my favorite game. It is best to do it live. You can't just watch the trailers for these games. You could make good money doing Superchats. The game is great with lots of lore and a huge map with a great main mission, 4 faction you can join, lots of twists, tons of side missions. Set the difficulty down low and go exploring. If you have never played it it is an eye-opener. Seeing people play it live for the first time is fun and I have seen a few do this. Even though it is an older game (2015) it is still really good. The game has several DLCs. Far Harbor is by far the best. Nuka World is OK as is the Mechanist. The Automatron only adds stuff to build at your settlements. Fallout Shelter is a separate free cell phone type game with microtransactions. The game is pretty big and will take likely 100 hours to play. Do something like 2 hour live seasons and post them for others to watch later. I saw someone with about 25k subscribers make $100+ in Superchats every video with only 200-300 people watching at a time. You have more than double that is subscribers. You just need to juggle playing the game, responding to Superchats, and checking over the chats every now and then. Do not be afraid to ack questions from the chat. The best part is no editing... Synths are synthetic humans. Some are like robots that look a bit like humans and others are clones of humans that are programmed. The only way to tell they are a synth generally is to kill them and they will have a synth component in the head that the Institute uses to give them memories, personality, and orders with. The game is based around collecting loot, weapons, armor... crafting and upgrading your gear, learning new abilities, building settlements (or not), and finding unique items. Buy, sell, find, trade, or kill for what you need. You can save whenever you want and unless you go hardcore you do not need to worry about things like food, water, and sleep. The game also has a ton of mods... as in thousands and thousands to do almost anything to the game. You can add trees back in, green grass...modern weapons, stuff from other games... horror stuff, crazy weather... I would not mess with them though, at last not until you have a good feel for the game. Or you can ignore my idea. It might not be you cup of tea or what your subscribers want. Witcher 3 is a good game. So is Horizon Zero Dawn, especially the new one Forbidden West. You could turn into a "Gamer Girl".

Once you feel up for more Fallout content, I highly recommend Fallout New Vegas' kind of content. There's a lot of diverse and interesting DLC (downloadable content) for that one, such as the dramatic tone shift between Old World Blues (old cartoony sci-fi mad scientists nonsense) and Dead Money (a heist where you are an unwilling participant). It also means an excuse to talk about Mormons because of Honest Hearts and "the Bear and the Bull" memes. Edit: Also, the Mechanist is, in the lore, an old comic book hero of the Fallout Universe. Generally speaking that DLC focused on a sidequest involving a lunatic robotics mastermind who built a robot army up and enabling the player to build robots for themselves. You also see someone else cosplaying as the Mechanist appear in Fallout 3 for a similar flavor of sidequest where he faces off against the Ant-Agonizer (a lady who controls giant ants) in an over-the-top LARP session over an exhausted town. A fun ending to that quest is convincing the Ant-Agonizer to become a hero because her comic book counterpart did so.

DLC = Downloadable Content. Expansion packs would be another way to describe them. You can play as a either sex in Fallout 3, Fallout NV, and Fallout 4. I haven't played the earlier ones so I'm not sure there. Same is true for TES 4 Oblivion & TES 5 Skyrim. Will likely be true for TES 6. Perhaps true for BGS's upcoming game Starfield. Nutjobs, nothing new. In Fallout 3, in the town of Megaton, there was an unexploded nuclear bomb at the center of town. There was a group of people there that worshiped the bomb. The Church of Atom. One of the early quests is to either disarm the bomb for Sheriff Lucas Simms, or to detonate it for Allistair Tenpenny. Either way you get a house as a reward, either in Megaton, or Tenpenny Tower. Makes more sense to disarm it, since Craterside Supply is in Megaton, and the store's owner Moira Brown is a quest giver. Her quest is worth doing IMO. Expect morally grey choices in any Fallout or TES game. Deathclaws? No, you cannot be friends with them, they're named that for a reason.

Poor HannaH, what you put yourself through for our entertainment... But yeah, The Sims is one of the games I would have suggested if you wanted to try playing a game as it's one of the more beginner/casual friendly games. Animal Crossing would be another I think you would have liked to play, but it isn't available on PC. So since you've played the first one, and might not be interested in investing in hardware for the other, then my third suggestion would be Minecraft, which is relatively easy to get into too, and you got the option to play in peaceful mode if the survival aspects is too much for you.
