I watched all 3 seasons on Netflix. And holy cow this was an amazing show. I seriously don't understand how people didn't enjoy it. The second and third seasons was crazy good. With plenty of smart twists and reveals like (spoiler) Hannibal only seeing patients that he believes will one day be serial killers and he steers then in that direction. Or how he uses drugs and extensive light therapy to pretty much brainwash the victims he doesn't kill. Love this show they really nailed the characters and improved them in a lot of ways.

the first season was a slow build while it found it's voice.. probably lost some people because of some of the artsy stuff that is a little stronger in the beggining. I've heard part of the reason it was cancelled was because they knew they didn't have the rights to Silence of the Lambs. I'm not sure how all the stories got seperated though.

ive been reading Janice poons articles long before she created the Hannibal cookbook, and well aware of Jose Andres collaborative efforts, however I think hIs involvement is rather overstated, finding reams and reams of articles about his involvement in the show when quiet frankly it was Janice poon who made the food in the show so iconic, and theres significantly less on her.

Love that you’re covering this. Question, does the mushroom murderer count as cannibalism? I thought his thing was using fungi as a connecting life force (hence trying to ‘ help’ by putting Abigail in a network)

This is the highlight of my morning; breakfast at Hannibal's also great work on the video and very interesting insight into the episode. Something I noticed also side the camera work, is the use of lighting in certain scenes can't wait for next week.

my only issue with it was that the point or one of the points of the munsters was that they were still good people despite looking like monsters, well mockingbird lane kind of spoilt that with all the murder.

Just out of morbid curiosity; what kind of Hannibal-istic meaty dish goes well with absinthe? Just got my bottle of Jade 1901

well personally I’d keep absinthe for after a meal as a digestif especially with the high alcohol content, but in the Hannibal cookbook there is a recipe for snails and absinthe cream, ive never tried it myself but ive seen many good recommendations for absinthe and fish, but if you really need a “Hannibal-istic” suggestion absinthe will cut through the greasiness of pork belly quite well, its usually cooked with fennel anyway so already made for those kind of flavours.

I found Season 3 very underwhelming. While Seasons 1 and 2 were clever and not making a fuss of this Season 3 tries too hard to be clever while it is not.
