Rachel Welch is one of the most beautiful women in film history and she was a great actress too. She was amazing in this film. Robert Culp and her made a great team in this great movie. He was also a great actor.

I'm not sure about Culp being a great actor. One things for sure. He was a letcher in the Harvey Weinstein camp. There are documentaries of Hugh Hefner, who we now know to be an even more disgusting predator of young women than he seemed at the height of his career, together with his good buddy Culp as old guys. Really creepy. Welch probably had her hands full dealing with him.

Thanks for making this available, it's something of a fun watch now, 50+ years since its release. It's an uneven blend of harsh action and awkward comedy. It was shot in Spain (a Paella Western?) and has a fine cast, including some nice cameos (Diana Dors, Christopher Lee, Stephen Boyd etc). Apparently the studio wanted Peter Fonda but he turned it down, so they chose Robert Culp as something of a Fonda look-alike. Welch's performance is helped by the fact that she has very few lines to say. The baddie trio of Borgnine, Elam and Martin are happy to look suitably sleazy. Jack Elam must have appeared in hundreds of movies. Sadly, he blew his savings on an ill-advised yoghurt making enterprise in his latter years. Apparently he thought that he could emulate Paul Newman's sauce business. The best line in the film is reserved for the saloon drunk who raises his head to see Welch's tight calfskin jeans: "That guy sure is built!"

I had a beer in the saloon in this movie when I visited the western town they filmed it in. Almeria in Spain. The Good the bad and the ugly , Navajo Joe and loads of others were filmed there too. It was a dream came true for a westerns fanatic like me

One thing not often noted about this film is that Raquel Welch held her own in what is a pretty good cast of professionals. By now anyone who followed her career has realized she's a pretty good actress. She's more like Michelle Pfeiffer than most of the pretty girls who make a splash in a few films and the disappear into obscurity or decadance. She was unfairly blackballed by the system after "Walks Far Woman" and her dismissal from "Cannery Row" by Debra Winger. That cast change turned the movie into a monumental failure. She wouldn't be sexually or financially abused by the powers that be any more, and they punished her for it. Today, like Sophia Loren or Audrey Hepburn before her death, she is still a very beautiful woman. She can do comedy too. I just wish Hollywood could get her a great role or two to cap off her career, if she was willing.

A good western, typical revenge plot, still unusual at the same time, but with ups and downs. Very good interaction between Raquel Welch and Robert Culp, while the three crooked brothers, portrayed by Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam and Strother Martin are far above limit with over acting. Unnecessary for such a experienced cast. Could have been quite a classic, but instead becomes a half breed comedy, which it's not.

The trio of Borgnine, Elam and Martin were superb. A perfect comedic, yet downright nasty, performance from all three. Pretty entertaining. Culp died to easily, a rinse with whisky and a bandage would have fixed that wound right up and they could have retired to the coast and raised kids lol. The hat suited her though.
