A New York State appeals court rejected Fox News’ attempt to shut down a multibillion-dollar defamation suit against the network. The company that brought the case, Smartmatic, accuses Fox News of spreading lies that the voting-technology company helped rig the 2020 election in favor of President Biden. The decision comes as Dominion Voting Systems’ wages a similar $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber reports on this developing legal story.

This is not legal advice, but I believe you could have a case if you lost a loved one over the lies Fox told. For example the Ivermectin scandals. Previously, they had been claiming they were just reporting the news about the viability of alternate treatments, but if they were discussing truth vs stock options behind the scenes, I feel this has legal merit. FCC has narrow scope on products we purchase ie: cable & internet. News channels that are listed as actual news are "over the air broadcasting. Those channels your TV antenna can pick up and claim to be just stating news license as news with FCC. Hannity calls that the media mob. Hannity tells his listeners the XL was bringing them crude oil an jobs . Its Alberta tar sands to be sold off the Gulf coast to other countries. Tar sands are hard to refine and can be nasty. What he doesn't say is the tar sands are running through CAPLINE to the LA. Gulf and sold offshore. It's not crude and the Americans are not the beneficial customer. The price of energy has to be high , and the EPA regs have to be low for tar sands to be profitable from what I have read.

Fox is in the business of making money for Murdock. A National Inquirer with a CFO, CEO, legal team, new personalities etc all on steroids to make money so that Murdock continues to gets rich. Hannity et al want their multi-million dollar paychecks. They believed that they could say anything and they are protected.
