Hansa shower cartridge, stiff operation.

How to strip and lubricate a shower cartridge that has become stiff to operate. This cartridge is a Hansa 59913060, already removed from the shower valve body.

This has helped me a lot!!! I got still two questions: 1 When you put the cartridge together, do you have to lubricate the thread that is keeping the catridge together? It looked in your video that you used silicon grease for that. 2 The thread that is on the plunger which changes in length when you dial the knob to change the temperature --> Mine was greased from the factory, and I will clean this too. Can I just use ball bearing grease to lubricate it again for that? Thank you again so much for your help because this is the only video online which explains how to service the cartridge instead of throwing it away and install a new one. However since I have cleaned it and taken it completely apart (making a special tool for it to open) now I understand why professionals just swap it, because cleaning it is a lot of work. I am so happy 😊 I hope it works after I put it back again.

How can I remove the handle on a hansa shower faucet? I cannot find a set screw.

Are most shower mixer cartridges similar to this? Mine is so stiff it is hard to turn, perhaps something is broken on it but don’t want to remove it in case it falls apart on me.

The principle is generally similar. They are all assembled by circlips and threads. It's just a case of figuring out how to take them apart. Use silicon grease to lubricate.

I just unscrew a UBERHAUS cartridge, was VERY hard at start...I tought that even if I break it, without new O'ring, it's no use...Thanks tony for great video, well done
