Agreed. Xavi already announced he would not continue at Barca, for months already. Barca could have just contacted and confirmed with the appointment of Flick if that's what they wanted. It's embarrasing for Xavi to be put through in this situation, embarassing for the board for their fickle-mindedness, and even for Flick because he's been waiting to get over this drama for so long.

Exactly. The Barca way is left behind, even Pep had to evolve in the EPL, but Barca are stuck in trying to play the old way, Barca has to evolve and for that they have to bring in someone from the outside. Trying to stick to managers who “understand” Barca doesn’t work.

@@gibson51s Yes. One of the major things I’ve noticed is that we seriously lack intensity. We have technical players but it means nothing if we can’t keep up with the intensity of the opposition, we don’t move the ball quick enough

To be honest, Araujo's red card released a landslide of bad news. Barca were doing so well and the team just switched off, and the whole mood of the fanbase turned sour and never recovered. Laporta is not doing favours either with how he has handled the situation.

People are Laporta but he’s the best president that we can have even though he’s done a few things wrong: Xavi had his chance but even he admitted that he progress the team any further so I don’t know why they begged him to stay, but at the same time Xavi should have stuck to his decision. I happy ti have Flick as the new manager, he’s has experience at top level and not to mention that he won the sextuple with Bayern. He also Okay very attacking football. You 13:24 have to do a bit of research, we were always going to lose Messi because we didn’t have FFP, Tebas and liga basically made it happen, there was nothing Laporta could do. The problem was Laporta guaranteeing Messi that he could sign him. Messi was told the entire summer that he could be signed, and then out of nowhere Laporta said it was impossible. That’s poor treatment of a legend, without a doubt in my opinion. You can’t convince someone that he can stay, and then within 24 hours say he has to leave. He didn’t have any time to look for a new club or plan, it was really bad treatment for all Messi gave to the club but I know the financial situation didn’t allow him to sign for Barca. Laporta could’ve been more clear with him and honest, instead he lied to him and said he would be at Barcelona which wasn’t fair to Messi at all

The bad season is not Xavi's Fault. we lost important players like busquets dembele and jordi. we had an enourmous amount of injuries. and the team planning was not aligned with the coach. Xavi needed a pivot and we got Jao Felix and Vitor roque. and brining Christenson to the midfield demands preparation and training before you throw him in the role. Seeing the circumstances Xavi improved the team towards of the end of the season and some bad luck and individual desicions screwed us. I do not believe Flick will do as good as xavi we will end up missing him

Arteta has been Arsenal coach for 4 years in his first 2 years he finished 8th and 5th! now he has finished 2nd twice with no good CL record. He is building up his team but this is not possible at barca because one bad season with lots of injuries and bad luck and your out. that is why pep is no longer at barca and why flick will also leave. because the minute things get hard at barca your a bad coach you dont know tactics.
