Combo rack tip - when moving the racks in/out, always screw the tightener *towards* the direction you are going first. So when moving them in, tighten the outer ones first. When you move them back out, tighten the inner ones first. Otherwise your uprights will have play in them and move a lot when unracking/racking.

My last comp had a wider combo (Elite FTS). And I did clip it on one squat walkout. What’s worse is I clipped it on two bench unracks. But I think you’re right that training with a wider rack would force me to have a more even unrack on both lifts.
@BasementBrandon Жыл бұрын
The Elite/Williams ones are pretty nice and let you customize, but they are creeping into that $4000 range.

Agree with your review. Not the best, but with Eleiko being 2x the price, it is a great value. ZKC is a bit cheaper at $2,600 I believe, but may not have all the features of the Hansu. I've heard the bench on ZKC is long, however, so this may be helpful for taller lifters. My biggest issue with Hansu was the overall customer experience. In this day and age of e-commerce there are certain must haves like order confirmation, shipping notifications with tracking numbers. I did not receive either on my order. My plates came right away, but evidently the combo rack was not in stock and had to come from China, into Canada and then the US. All in all, it took about 11 weeks for the unit to arrive. In between I was given some run around on whether it had shipped or not. After providing information for US Customs, twice, Hansu said they 'shipped another one' to me to help expedite the process. Right - at $3K a pop, they just don't 'ship another one'. They never sent the first one but told me they had to appease me. Just tell me the truth; that would have landed better.
@BasementBrandon Жыл бұрын
ZKC reached out to me about possibly reviewing theirs, but they wanted me to agree to only use their products in videos for a year, which I was unwilling to accommodate.
@billwinter8386 Жыл бұрын
@@BasementBrandon right. No way can you agree to that with the volume of equipment that comes in/out of your gym. Sure you would get to keep the rack (and likely sell it later) but a one year exclusive deal would require some additional compensation I’d think.

I’m constantly using this combo rack in the powerlifting gym I usually go. An issue I found is the rollers are a bit too loose/smooth for me. It affects my unracking sometimes. Moreover, there is another Hansu Combo Rack in the gym (but probably not approved by IPF). The bench for that one uses ‘pick up and drop into’ approach. I suspect that using screws is a requirement for IPF approved benches as Eleiko’s benches use screws to secure themselves too.
@BasementBrandon Жыл бұрын
Sounds like they have both versions. I'm not sure about the drop in vs roll in as some IPF approved racks are still drop in but do have screws to tighten.

This is a really tough question, I've been thinking for a few minutes on it. I think this is going to depend on your preferences a lot. An easy answer might be a specialty bar (I'm partial to SSBs), but you could get pretty creative in just making some stuff at home too, like things for deficits or block pulls. Is there anything you're finding you're missing in your day to day training?

Comprehensive. White and black would look sick in ur gym. Shame about the cost. Heavy debate about which direction the adjustment pins face on bench in your opinion? Never understood why anyone would buy a Combo rack. They cost more than 2 Power Racks from REP and their spotter arms are always entirely too short. Would you walk out on a Combo rack with a 1 RM Squat weight, no you wouldn't and no smart person would so why have one. There are so many good benches with longer spotter arms out there for far cheaper than Combo Racks. I'm just telling the truth. Buy a Power rack and a dedicated individual bench with spotter arms that can actually save your life and you'd have money left to buy some bars or plates. Combo racks spotter arms are just for looks. Just spreading truth on the internet
