I understand that this is for powerlifters, and it's a completely different game. With that out of the way, $1600 for a shitty half rack that flip on powerlifters all the time and a bench is wild. With that money you could buy an entire 11g power rack that's never gonna move, a flat bench and have money to spare for a cable station. And still do the exact same thing just as fine.
@Massenomics4 ай бұрын
@@kidbrown2010 all true. But it really comes down to those that compete and like to use competition specific equipment. If you don't compete, I can't see it making sense

The wood in the uprights is to decrease the amount of time spotters and loaders have to spend trying to get the pin through the uprights. They borrowed that idea from Eleiko. Also on your rack in and out adjustment, that entire piece that holds the adjustment knobs pops up out of the square tubing and the notches rest over the edge of the square tubing. This gives you a bit more adjustment that you’re not getting by just turning the knobs.
@Massenomics4 ай бұрын
@@HenDiesel Basement Brandon also reached out about the rack in and out adjustment. Said the same you did. That makes sense! That makes it a little better than the way I was using it.

Unless I had at least a 2 door garage or a massive basement area there's no way i'd ever buy a combo rack even if I was an elite tier powerlifter, with that said at $1,200 I can jerry rig a spacer with threads for the bench for free with my tools in my garage.

For the algorithm 🫡. I don’t understand combo racks for training purposes honestly. I watched Jesus Olivares dump ~1000lbs and thought “how much are you giving up by squatting in a power rack with safeties?” I get specificity for training in how you’re going to compete but for a home gym…? It just seems hard to justify for a lot of reasons. All that said, please keep up the equipment reviews. I’m a huge fan.
@Massenomics4 ай бұрын
@@DerickCross34 all true! I think if you don't compete, there would not be any reason to own one. If you do compete, you really can still get by just fine without one.

Strongarm Combo Rack is $1,250 w/ free shipping. I have run 3 meets on it. Rollers are cheap, and uprights can’t adjust out. But I would say it’s definitely better quality than this overall.
