As an Aussie, I'd like to see no partners, develop things ourselves, and export them ourselves, develop Australian jobs, and benifit Australia. Bugger this sharing. How about NOT sharing, maybe get 40 hr week jobs back, some stability and security for Australians. Not this bs of 2 and 3 part time jobs and constantly worry is there gunna be enough next week to feed the kids, buy new shoes etc. Ive lived under Tarrif systems, 40 hr week, and this job sharing bs. Only ppl job sharing benefits is corporations robs the worker of superannuation. Why do "short run". Koreons built 6000 already..that could be a fulltime facrory here, support a sandwitch shop down the rfoad, who buy rolls at local bakery, who hires a guy to mow his lawn, who pays for tennis lesson for his boys, who spends money at coles, where he pays your daughter in her 1st job. Yeah lets send the money for complex components OS. 6000, that is enough to support "complex small run production" which they say is our skill. Absolutely no reason it cant be all done here

Incorrect. We fought on behalf of the Koreans who collaborated with Japan against their own country; then subsequently spent the post-war period massacring them to maintain control of their half of the peninsula; before stupidly attacking a city across the border. The Republic of Korea was a brutal military dictatorship, led by fascists and parasitic landlords, well into the 1980s; when the last massacres of democracy protesters occurred. But now you know...

@B61Mod123 жыл бұрын
@@MagpieOz Which are the requirements which distinguish the two? Armament? Survivability? Mobility?
@BozE-Claire2 жыл бұрын
@@B61Mod12 i know im 7 months late, so forgive me by saying what im about to the boxers handle recon, meant to move fast and not engage in pitched battles, more of a skirmishing and communication and observation role. the redback and other IFV's are meant to carry and deliver troops into pitched battles and support those troops during said battle. that said both the boxer and the redback and its competitor could technically do the same job. however the boxer is lacking some of the offensive capabilities the redback has in it's ADF adoted variant. so it will likely underperform under frontline combat conditions and not be as usefull. when it will fair much better speeding around the countryside and performing recon operations to forward info to the rest of the units deployed. all of the above however means fuck all because IFV, APC, CRV, AFV and so on are pretty much well the same thing these days, its all about configuration of the vehicle since the proliferation of compact and bespoke turrets containing 25mm and up cannon with AT launchers bolted on or carried inside for infantry use. these things have become far more boring and confusing as a result unfortunately

Army requirements for an infantry fighting vehicle - (me thinks of the Bradley) 1. Must carry a section, nope a platoon of full body armored infantry. 2. Must have a 155 mm cannon with 5x21 mm support weapons 3. Must be able to sail across the indo pacific by itself. 4. Must be able to fly 5. Must have ICBM capability 6. Must have Phalanx. 7. Must have Wifi and netflix 8. Must have separate messing facilities, canteen and boozer 9. Must go faster then a V8 super car 10. Must also come in black.

Australian soldiers went to war in Afghanistan with Landrovers! Clearly the Australian Defence Force does not know what they are doing. This tracked vehicle is not what Australia needs. Australian infantry do not fight overseas. Only Australian special forces fight overseas as infantry. Normally special forces do not fight as infantry, but that is the role of Australian special forces. They need an 8-wheeled fighting vehicle that has a gun that can kill a tank. These are easier to transport, can drive on paved roads, does not need transport trailers, can travel fast at 100km/hr and can drive off-road anywhere. Very effective and versatile type of vehicle.

What’s wrong with it being flat? You don’t sacrifice any internal capacity which is what’s needed for an IFV. You’ll also find it’s likely spaced armor. Nice BUT good luck facing anything on wheels with firepower, we proved wheeled vehicles can take out tracked no problem in Africa. So the question? Why Tracked? Japan has started moving to wheeled some of which may have less armor but history has proven this is not such an issue (maybe different these days due to guiding). Another plus to wheeled is certain repairs can be done while mobile and in some cases engines replaced while being towed! into battle, yes this has happened, plenty! Track has its uses for sure but to be a mobile infantry? I think it is outdated now.
