Salvador Sanchez is unquestionably one of the greatest boxers I've ever seen. He had everything you could ask for in a great well-rounded fighter, one of his best assets was his counter punching so that's what I wanted to focus on for this highlight. He used subtle defensive moves to create huge openings for his counter attacks. Truly one of Mexico's greatest if not the best! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod

@@spanishrock All of reynosos fighters lack technique even his prodigy Canelo. Canelo defense, head/waist movement is impeccable and his body punching and counter IQ is some of the greatest in this era but look at the fighters under reynoso camp. Canelo, Julio Cesar Martinez, Oscar Valdez, the Cuban HW frank Sanchez etc all lack technical ability. For him to say Sanchez lacked technique is a slap in the face to himself even mike Tyson laughed in their faces when they said that to him in his podcast. Sanchez looked awkward bc of constant footwork he could swap stands or continue to throw dozens of punches backing up or moving laterally not just moving forward. Any fighter that tries to throw combinations on the back foot or moving laterally will look awkward bc your feet aren’t set how they’re supposed. Yet Sanchez made it work at an elite level that should tell you how great he was. Sanchez could fight at all 3 distances inside, mid range and from the outside on his back foot.

With exceptions of Finito Lopez, Dinamita Marquez, and now Canelo, Mexican fighters not really known for being highly technical, but Sanchez was to me a level higher at the most elite level because he made it seem so natural and easy. The most complete fighter I've ever seen. Best footwork aside from Ali, magnificent jab, countering at any range, fight going forward or backwards, slick defense and parrying, drop you in the 1rst or 15th, ironman stamina, power in both hands, high ring IQ, and titanium chin. One more thing. The way he carried himself, his aura, he was a man of few words, but in his biggest, most important fights up to that point, he had this childish smile mixed with ultra alpha confidence expressing he loves what he does, even if he was the underdog, which you rarely see today.

My number one favorite boxer!! I noticed one of his really best atribute is to read opponent fighting rhythm and he exploit that breaking enemy rhythm by attacking and then escape even when things go real wild he will stay calm and find a way to counter and smothering his op many boxers has good hand speed, footwork, defense, offense, chin, stamina, etc but only few has ability to read op rhythm thats why salvador makes it looked so easy Thats why this legend is hard to learn because his main strategy is to read rhythm, breaking it, let his op get calm and get into the rhythm again, then sanchez break it again repeat

Study Sachez style is exciting! So, there's many ways Salvador Sanchez likes to counter. I see that he throws some punches with the intention of leading the opponent to trying to counter, he uses that to throw another counter. He also punches after his opponents throw combinations at him, while they're adjusting or just overthinking. He has really great timing in others situations where he just counters at the same time or even before his opponent throws the punch. Blocking, parrying, sliping or rolling with the punch are others weapons in his arsenal that he uses to clear the opponent's attack right before landing a nice counter.
