my hair is literally so thin and I definitely didn't consider how the products I'm using are weighing down my curls. :'( I used a deep conditioner, leave in conditioner, gel, and a serum to lock it all in. Then diffused it and it looked PERFECT. but an hour or 2 later I lost ALL of the definition in my curls, I was super bummed. but this is extremely helpful, thank you sm!!

@mariamaroni81044 жыл бұрын
Can you explain to me please?
@suzispencer54404 жыл бұрын
María Maroni most CGM approved products you can buy at stores and even some higher end lines cause build up on the hair. There are only a few brands that are truly water soluble and do not cause build up: Raw Curls, Innersense, Mop Top, Jessicurl, Giovanni Eco Chic, and Kinky Curly. If you use some water soluble products and some that are not, your hair will not be able to heal from the inside.

What I discovered about my hair...an occassional co-wash does work well for my curly, low porosity, fine hair. I use a hair scalp massager shampoo brush and it effectively cleans both my hair and scalp. Gel products weigh my hair down and have to use it minimally. My hair loves creamy styling moisturizer products. (What could effect everyone's outcome could be your water too. We have very hard water.)

co washing was just terrible. It looked fine the first time I did it because my hair was quite dry, but by the second it looked disgusting. This should only be done to hair that severely suffers from lack of moisture. It will not work for most people, and even for those that it does work for they should still be clarifying every once in a while depending on their hair

I can never get my curls to last more than a day or so. On day 2 i just have a lot of frizz and my curls are basically gone so usually i just soak my hair completely to refresh it. Is soaking my hair everyday in the shower bad for it? I’m new to all of these different methods so I’d really love some tips!
@hanzcurls4 жыл бұрын
Hey, soaking your hair everyday could potentially cause damage to the cuticles as everytime you wet and dry your hair they swell and shrink, which I've heard can make the hair fragile. At least that is my understanding. When I first started out, my curls didn't last that well, but now I properly protect them overnight and take the care to give my hair what it needs on wash day, my curls last better. Perhaps try adding a bit more product on wash day? I find strong hold gels really help :)
@lukaseldenrust26374 жыл бұрын
Emma Wishart you could spray a mix of conditioner and water onto your hair to reactivate the gels, I know it’ll work for gels whose first ingredient is water. This is how I refresh my curls...

My hair is the same but I have research that there may be product build up. Clarify your hair with a clarifying shampoo or just anything without silicone. You can also use baking soda method. Style your hair in sections. Get layers. Or apply products closer to the root. If your hair is long it might just be because your hair is being weighed down. Most of these don’t work for me but I hope they work for you.

I wash my hair everyday cause it gets oily fast but my hairs maybe 2b or 2c, if I don't use heat on it its straight to maybe my eyebrows and then it turns curly, but like frizzy messy curly not cute curly, and tips on how to stop the frizz, I've tried to stop dry brushing it and drying it with a t-shirt but neither help
@ohhmangos4 жыл бұрын
it may be that your hair is damaged. Try to not brush it at ALL when your hair is wet and only use the t-shirt for about 15 minutes. Then let your hair breathe for a bit. Another reason it can get oily is because you wash it everyday. Washing your hair everyday strips the hair. Check out Brad Mondo xD. Also when your hair is wet try to scrunch it like how she does in the video, it really does help. You may be 2c-3a. I used to think I was 2a-2b. I later on thought I was 2b-2c. Now I am realizing my hair was damaged af and my hair is actually 3a. Also, a leave in conditioner plus a gel might help with frizz. Try putting your conditioner only on the bottom of your hair, not your scalp. And very minimal product on ur scalp.

Try scrunching it a ton. Also, you want to spread out the gel and oil throughout your hair but without a brush. Make sure you don't put conditioner on top of your scalp a ton, only a bit to massage it. Same with styling products. Also, make sure to not brush your hair while wet and protect it at night. You also may be washing your hair too often if u are producing tons of oil.

I made the mistake of putting way too much products into my hair. I overloaded with gel and it made my hair exactly how you describe it. Don’t use too much product, you can always add more but it takes a lot of effort to get it out again.

I think it's pretty much certain that everyone hates their curly hair at one point or another, or has that moment where they feel like they are less because other people have nice straight or wavy hair. I hated my hair for so long, I tried to straighten it out, cut it off, and hide it away. It may not be what you wanted, but it's what you were born with, so it's best to learn to love it, and to love yourself. It can take time, but the reward is worth it.

@musigalglo4 жыл бұрын
That product has a bit of a misleading name. It's definitely more of a low poo.
@kristenrb25914 жыл бұрын
Low poo will have less of the strong cleansers in them. Some people that use clarifying shampoo too often find it strips too much of the hairs of natural oils.
@squish40244 жыл бұрын
A clarifying shampoo is basically a shampoo that strips away everything. I tend to use it once a month to remove product build up. Low poos you can use for the rest of the time. It’s gentle on the hair and scalp but it does make your hair stripped. :)

I use gel as a seal for my products. My hair gets super dry so I have put together products that work well. I start with either a detangler or primer. The styling includes my curl cream which is very light and moisturising. I finish with my gel. I use a liquid gel so it doesn’t build crazy or weigh it down. Also, try using a hair serum when scrunching it out. That genuinely helps out a bunch 😊
