With the configuration of a pod way underneath the fuselage, you are going to have continuous issues on landing. The tendency to flip over will be hard to overcome.

Great content with excellent informative details, as always. Is great to see the good efficiency numbers. Curious what measure as stall speed, and the stall characteristics in a future flight after tuned? The fields look like a swamp. It explains why sugarcane grows well. I had noticed many storms moving through your area this last week. You are correct; 2.45 GHz is particularly prone to fading in high dewpoint/rain because water absorbs energy so efficiently at this frequency. (ie: this is typical microwave oven frequency, so nearby frequency spectrum is also effected) Regarding the landing, think being a good hold-off flair could help lower touchdown momentum. Ensuring the pod is aligned with the track over the ground, as crabbing into a crosswind could cause most forward wing to dip at touchdown. Saw Giz recorded his landing and it seemed uneventful. Length of grass and ground fiction could be a factors. Perhaps trying a powered-on vs. off prior to flair (as elevator aligned with prop wash) might be an option.

I ordered my Firefly after seeing your first video, and I was likewise concerned about the aircraft flipping on landing. It seems like this could be a huge issue with the airframe, especially with the gimbal in the nose like that. I got this aircraft more as a filming plane because of the O3 gimbal they offer now, but I need to come up with a decent way to land the thing so I don't end up breaking it. I live in a desert so I really hope that the dirt and dust will prevent the nose from catching and flipping it over as there's a non-zero chance that it gets a rock straight to the gimbal haha! The 3A draw on cruise is wildly impressive and I'm exited to see what kind of cruise time I can get out of it!!

I would recommend that you program the flaps to the aileron. This allows you to land with the nose up and more slowly, which reduces the risk of an accident. Behind the gimbal, stick a little extra slip on his belly, so his nose will be higher.

I wondered how that thing landed - since I've been seeing it over the last couple weeks. Apparently it Tony Hawk endo's until it can endo no more. So I wonder where BP is going to mount that gimbal now? Can it mounted upright rather than hanging? That would open a lot of possibilities for a heavy loader?!

Thanks for the video. I expected landings like this based on the design. Maybe a parachute could help with landing. The gimbal camera will certainly not like such braking maneuvers either.

I believe the antenna placement is the issue for your poor video in the shown flight. Comparing 11:55 to 12:05 you clearly see that once the antenna is not behind the carbon/foam/cables in the connecting part of the fuselage your mbps immediately go up as well as the bars all around are gone

Maybe! Stopping can be more problematic because the machine is too light and short. Of course, it is more practical and comfortable, easier to use than the idea-generating Sky Observer, which is much larger. However, the Sky Observer has such a large size that it prevents it from tipping over and will slide on your stomach. Anyway, I like this plane.

4:35 - the footage at this point looks lot worser than your usual footage from other planes and a bit disappointing for the big marketing claims they made. It is shaking.
