Thanks! I was able to rebuild a 182515 Electric Motor Drive Head. The gears had ceased due to corrosion and the motor had water damage similar to yours. The water probably came in through a tiny crack in the housing. It was a fun and rewarding project.

Thanks for the video. I used this one along with a few others to rebuild my happijac motor. My motor had seized due to water infiltration and subsequent rust. In fact the magnets had separated from the housing when I removed the armature. Emory cloth cleaned up the surfaces and loctite adhesive to secure the magnets. The hardest part was reassembly and alignment of the armature. Be sure and seat the lower bearing first then the top section. Used windshield sealer on all the motor housing seams, hopefully it will keep water out.

Just finished rebuilding 2 of my camper jacks and elec motors just like these. The tip to use air was a big help. My magnets in the motor were cracked from water infiltration and then freezing. I glued them back together since the elec heads are nearly $300 each. If you need to replace motor bearings that have the numbers 608RS on the side of them they are 8 x 22 x 7 mm in size. Consider these are the same size as common skate board bearings. All venders where out of them in our town and Google kept giving me skateboard shops as a result. Bought them and they fit perfectly plus you can choose from many different prices, colors and qualities.

You cannot buy these motors any more so this is super valuable information. Thank you.

I’m having an issue with one of my rear Happijacs on my 2005 Bigfoot 29C5.4 the motor was stuck, the housing is cracked and moisture got in there, I put my Dewalt impact on it and freed it up, works now but not getting 100 percent lifting power, I’m going to take it apart tomorrow, thanks for doing this great instructional video, it’s really going to help.

Fill the top of leg 1/2 full with Lucas oilstablizer if you go over half it make oil leak from lever or the little white plug and over time oil will leak down on the screw shaft and don’t Evan have take a part and I drilled a hole in the top cover the size was deterred by the size of a goo rubber plug. So hope this helps..
