I know what really happened with you choice in tires... After the the Florida meet, you took a ride in Big Hoss, who has the BFG's and Dee got a little jealous of his shoes...LOL
@captainkirk88063 жыл бұрын
To be honest those tires were past do for replacement. New tires look awesome. Most of the cars I've owned have called for the same tire pressure, front and rear. But I've always wondered why the pressure couldn't be more closely related to the weight distribution of the car. For example, if 60 percent of the curb weight is over the front wheels, and 40 percent is over the rear wheels, why isn't the tire pressure similarly distributed? Answer: car manufacturers, recognizing this fact, have designed suspensions around a single tire pressure, so that the car's SUSPENSION already compensates for the weight distribution.
@jamescollier31863 жыл бұрын
Just being honest. BFG KO2 are some of the worst tires ever. At one time had a fleet of 16 Ford super duty with BFG KO2 and everyone of them had damaged fenders form blowouts. I would never have a set on me truck even if they gave them away for free. Just my opinion

The different pressures in the tires are due to payload capacity. Since the weight on the front stay the same GM engineers figured out that you can get away with the lower pressure and not negatively effect tire wear. And since the rear tires could see heavy loads they wanted higher pressure to keep the side wall from squishing down and causing improper wear on the out tread.

I have a set of BFG AT KO2's on my Wrangler and they have been great. With that good experience, couple years ago I put a set on my '16 Denali 2500 and they were the horrible. They were a little noisy but the vibration was unbearable. They literally shook my truck. I had them in for re-balancing 3 times and they just couldn't get them right. I eventually replaced them with less than 10k miles on them. They do look good. Glad they are working for you. Love the channel.

Just a note on repairing aluminum, heat it up with a heat gun first and keep it warm, it will bend back much easier and less chance of cracking. Aluminum likes to crack when bent cold. Wow, Ney Ney! Marcia Griffiths "Electric Boogie". Everyone calls it The Electric Slide. One thing you may not know and that I was a DJ for about 30 years, starting in 1973. When the song was first released in1996, it immediately took off and I was teaching the dance to every crowd I played for. As more and more people knew how to perform the original dance, I started putting variations to it (of course, teaching those variations). I think there were three. As the song played and people were dancing, I would call out on the mic 1, 2 or 3. It was a lot of fun and to this day, it's my favorite.

The amount of weight on each axle determines best tire pressures. Empty truck with a diesel engine will need higher pressure on front axle, loaded with trailer, rear axle will need higher pressure (closer to max recommended pressure) Weight distribution bars on non fifth wheel trailers will require more front to back equality. The key is too low a pressure will cause a tire to heat up more and has a greater chance of failure. Another indicator is too low or high pressure will cause the tires to wear uneven. Hope this helps. Love you guys.

The Electric Slide was created in 1976 at the height of the disco era. The original choreography has 22 steps, but variants include the Freeze, Cowboy Motion, Cowboy Boogie, and the Electric Slide 2. The 18-step variation became popular in 1989. It is often confused with the bus stop AKA the L.A. Hustle which came out in 1974. Not to give my age away but i used to do those dances as well as Disco and Break. Man i am glad you guys were able to get your slides in or you would have missed the party....LOL. Happy Trails.

A/T tires are always quieter than the mudders. Smoother too. On my dually I run 80 psi in the front and 65 in the rear. There's a huge load on the front axle with a Cummins 6 and that huge transmission. Mfg recommends these pressures and my tires wear we'll set at those pressures. Great vid as usual! Bring the tires to the Max PSI (when COLD!) indicated on the sidewall. All the same PSI. The Tire doesn’t know if it’s on the front or rear. BUT, if the sticker on the door jam gives two different PSI’s, one for front and a different one for rear, in that case, follow the stickers directions.

The door sticker is Absolutely Obsolete if you are not running stock size tires. You are better off reading All the information on the sidewall and following the manufacturer ratings. For instance it should be different if you're running Srw or Drw and payload.

I also have the KO2's, but paid FAR less than you did! Holy crap...I paid $1,005 for mine. Had them for two years now, they wear great but they actually suck in mud. Going to try something different next time. As for pressures, I run 75 all around! That Duramax is heavy (mine's an '18 Denali HD), and with the 5th wheel it's heavy in the back. When not towing the ride is great, low noise, even wear, no need to run less pressure than max or near max. 75 all year, towing or not. Two years old, 50,000 miles on them, still have a good 1/3 tread left, maybe a bit more than that even. For the money they were a great choice, I'm just disappointed in their grip in mud and wet grass (which equals mud LOL). I have the tan interior too but my wife is not as gorgeous as yours LOL. Happy camping guys, looks like you have a great life together.
@HappilyEverHanks3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it seems like they have gone up in price quite a bit!! We have been hearing this a lot from other people as well We have been running 75 in the rear and 65 in the front. That’s good to know that you’ve been running at max psi and having adequate wear on the tires 😎👍🏼 Cheers to you! Stay safe out there

You run higher pressure in the back because that's where all the weight is. When you have a lot of flex in the sidewall it makes it get really hot like when you bend something back and forth to break it. That's why under inflated tires blow, the sidewall gets really hot as it bulges at the bottom as it rotates.

For the tire information. Here is what I do (I have BFG AT’s just like yours), I actually pulled the inflation table information for these tires and matched the tire pressure to my truck. Typically you’d need to run higher psi in the front and less in the back since the truck is always noise heavy with the motor when your not loaded. Now once you are hooked up to your camper that weight difference between the front and back would definitely change. I actually took my truck over the scales with the camper and without to see what my weights were on the axles. With my setup I run 45psi front and back while towing (I have a 2021 F150 V8) and that gives me more than enough weight carrying capacity on the tires. Pull the inflation information for your sized tires and compare the weights to your actual load, you’d be amazed at how much 5psi can change your capacities.

Carl and Naynay, the reason the fronr tires are 10 less than the rear tires, is the axle weight of the tow package and the weight distribution of the 5th wheel and the hit h in the bed of the truck.

Doing the electric slide... I run 75 psi in the rear tires and 65 in the front tire when I am towing. I have E rated 10 ply. The high psi in the rear is so the tire can take the weight of your unit. You can't go by the door sticker because that is for factory tires. Mine were 2 ply lite truck tires originally. Useless for towing. Nice looking new boots for Dee.

This is what I have been going by as well Wayne! As soon as we got home, I ended up increasing the pressures in the rear and keeping the fronts around 65. They are great tires, we are really happy to have them 😊🙌🏼
