Hay guys answering the call .I wrote a whole page for you and the bloody computer mmmm another subject .Wright fishing go to a mackerel hand line in the straits is highly recommended loose the shinny snaps or your lures will go missing from fish hitting them and cutting you off with hand lines there should be no need to pull down the rag as you can skull drag the fish as long as you like but every boat is different . Spoons are great for mackerel but they cause a lot of line twist in lite lines not so in heaver line .If you do get twist remove the lure and let the line out the back and it should return to normal with out a problem. It Is best to use some sort of springer to take the first of the hook up and it lets you know a fish is on . If you are still in the straits at this time (look) for the green brain coral as this is the free range supper market coral trout crayfish and lots of other things love being around them fish them on the big tides and at the top of the tide please persist with them and look for the next one as it will pay off it was something passed on to me by local islanders when I was up there many years ago also watch the turtles if they stay in one place looking down but on the surface go and fish in that spot turtle spy it is known as I hope this helps you and your fowlers to find the free range supper market MV Joy-c

Hello you two. I'm a 75 year old French man and I really enjoy your videos. All the advice you constantly give is a precious help for navigation and also for feeding on fish. I'm also a naturist who likes to live naked in the wild, so it's great to be able to face nature's elements with kindness. Keep up the good work, and don't stop sailing. Sincerely . Pierre.

That brought back memories of when I cleaned the bottom of my 34ft sloop while anchored at the mouth of the Cooma River in Moreton Bay. Found out later that it was noted for its bull sharks........gulp. Unfortunately my sailing days are over (spinal stenosis) so I envy the fun you two are having. Happy sailing.

I'd love to know more about your backgrounds & how you acquired your abundance of knowledge. Re-what you did before sailing or what type of sailing you did before this to gain so much experience and expertise. Plus how long you've been living aboard your boat, etc. Please keep making these lovely videos by two lovely people.

Yet another terrific edition of your vlog. I find myself really enjoying what I’ll call the “process episodes,” where we see the technical side of things, whether its selecting fishing lures, provisioning the boat (admittedly not very technical), demonstrating cooking techniques, making a spear or installing a replacement autopilot component. It’s all pretty great though, so please keep up the good work!

great video as always Troy and Pascal. Thanks. In my last comment I gave a description of fishing on the west coast of Canada. I should have just said to go to youtube and search " fishing Winter Harbour' and you will get the idea. When you are ''food fishing' do you ever just hand line like the guys in Northern Aust in the video "spanish mackerel and sharks ? Lastly a "hack" for sharpening hooks......Tie 2 chain saw files side by side. The size for 3/8 chain saw chain works well. To store and prevent rust keep in an empty 1 litre detergent bottle and add a squirt of WD 40 after use. I have been using the same files for over a year with zero rust. (This was not my idea.)
