My kids(9 & 7) and I really enjoyed playing this one. It’s simple enough for them but still has a bit of strategy for me. There’s even a variant where you just add all the victory symbols for a simpler less mathly game. I highly recommend for families. 👍

I think this game is awesome for mid-elementary aged kids. I suppose then it falls into 'Family game' category. I know Vasel doesn't think of it as 'kids' game because of the multiplication and the wee bit of strategy, but this is the very reason the game is great for those kids aging out of kid-level games.

Appreciate the review. I bought this one on a whim at my local board game store (just based on the cute visuals) and I wanted to make sure it was a "keeper" before ripping off the plastic wrap.

I'm always looking for new games to play with my parents and I think this one might make the list.

This looks like a fun one to play with my niece and maybe a more simple version of Machi Koro? But then again the last games I thought I'd be playing with my niece were Taco Cat and Rhino Hero both of which are faves of my regular group now

I wish we could get a top 10 "pure mechanism" or "intro to the mechanism" games. I really need a list of games that are simple and fun for teaching mechanisms to my kids and other family/friends. Basically the same way sushi go is a pure deck builder, it teaches deck building perfectly and then we can step into deck builders that have other stuff in them. But I would really appreciate a top 10 of the same thing for other mechanisms. This one looks like it might work for city building? Excited to try it.

Played this on BGA a while back, and while it definitely wasn’t for me, I definitely appreciate that it exists. It feels sort of like a “My First St Petersburg”

Wow, Gamewright seems to be having a lot of success with mass market games that Tom likes. Good on them! Hasbro on the other hand... Oooff

Kind of seems like Machi Koro but with less luck.

I played one game on BoardGameArena where the opponent only flipped over the most expensive cards in the early rounds making it really hard to for me to get cards I needed. I felt it was really mean in that way, and don't have a desire to return to it at all.

Funny thing, I had the exact same experience when playing it on BGA. When we play it at home we are much less competitive.

Why not just discard and flip the card from the easier stack on your turn?

Does the box fit sleeved cards? Easily worn cards are more forgivable if you aren't being punished for trying to prevent it.

The cards are really tiny, I don’t even know if you can sleeve them

This game is soo fun! I played this with my girlfriend, my grandma, and 2 uncles. And we had a blast! Sad to hear you thought it was so simplistic😢.

The tableau at 3:05 is incorrect, it can contain no more that 10 cards, as soon as one player lays down their 10th card on the table the game end is trigerred.

Wish the cards are a bit bigger. Maybe it *is* a children's game with that size of cards. Love the art style, though.
