Its funny how around the 5th or 6th season they were just like quit trying to wear their hair and dress like the 50's and wore their 70's hairstyles. And Chachi didn't even bother trying.

The last few seasons sucked, the girl playing Ron Howard's girl friend had the stupid mushroom hairdo which was at least 20 years in the future. So that ruined the show for me. If you're gonna have a show set in a certain time period, have everything correct or u might as well have a car made in the 80's driving around.

Same with the season 2 box set. Paramount felt the first season box didn’t sell enough to justify the hefty licensing fees for “Rock around the Clock” on the season 2 set, so they replaced it with the “Happy Days” theme (which actually became the opening theme in S3)

@@lakebay972 No it wasn't. After Ron Howard left, the show started focusing on Joannie, and was still very good, and went on for another 4 years. Ron Howard was part of the show, but he wasn't THE SHOW. The Fonz was the show. That's why they promoted him to the top of the show, just behind Ron Howard, in season 3. Just finished reading that Henry Winkler was scared of motorcycles. If you noticed in the first season he’s never riding the motorcycle. It was a Harley and much heavier than the later two bikes used in the show the remaining season. The later two bikes were Triumphs and lighter so Winkler could handle the bike much better and was more at ease with it and so they had scenes where he was riding it. That’s your trivia for the day.

Awesome! The title "Happy Days" was originally just a reference to youth, and the 1950s. But now, decades later, that name has taken on a new meaning, becoming a perfect summary of everything this show represents - as the world looks back to a truly better time in entertainment, when the whole family could sit down and watch beautiful, wholesome TV shows like this. We now have young people saying they miss the 80s who weren't even born in that century! For me personally, the nostalgia is off the chart with this. Happy Days (and Mork and Mindy) are two of the first shows I remember watching as a kid. I also grew up listening to this kind of music, as my dad was crazy about a 50s tribute band called Showaddywaddy who were huge here in England in the 70s:-)
@John-ct9zs7 ай бұрын
People have always been nostalgic for the past, always longing for the good old days. In the 1970s and 80s, that time was the 1950s and early 60s. Today in 2024 that time is the 1970s, 80s, 90s, even early 2000s.

As a Jukebox affectionado, I noticed that the exterior image of the jukebox is of a mid 1950's Seeburg. Those play the records vertically. This is the actual jukebox featured at Arnold's in the show. The interior image in the intro of a more conventional turntable in a jukebox, where the record is put down, and you see the picture of the cast members over the record, is of a mid 1960's Rockola. Only in the last season intro do you see both the interior and exterior of a Rockola, although the exterior image is of an older Rockola. ( I wonder if someone called them out for that!)

Happy Days should had concluded when Ron Howard decided to exit it. They could of had a nice final ending instead of dragging the show on without him. Same for The Waltons when Richard Thomas left the show. Although The Waltons did okay for the next season or two without Richard Thomas, but once the grandparents were no longer in the show is when they should of wrapped that one up. Instead of later on trying to re-cast John Boy with an entirely different actor that looked, sounded, and acted nothing like Richard Thomas version of John Boy. Shows like Family Ties knew when to quit, so they quit on a good note with a nice fully cast final.
