At the end of the day I'm not exactly looking for tips on how to make a bacon sandwich as, like most English people, I've been making one almost every Sunday as long as I can remember. I was just curious to see Jamie's take on it and the one thing I cant get my head round is the dry bread. "Never put sauce in a sandwich" I'm sorry but that's the biggest load of bollocks I've ever heard, especially if you grill bacon because it's a lot drier than fried bacon. Having just bacon and lightly toasted bread would be really dry and hard to swallow so you have to have sauce inside the sandwich, not dipping it on the side like a little kid. I feel sorry for Americans who have never had brown sauce - it's pretty much impossible to describe other than saying it's the perfect accompaniment for bacon.
