Such a beautiful location. Sheep, chickens (chook-chooks) and countryside. Isolation may sometimes cause drawbacks but the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, I suspect for most. The mention about the "birds nest, keep it tight", is a great point. This provides two functions, restriction of oxygen and insulation of heat generated. Excess airflow is reduced allowing the ember to grow at a comfortable rate. When prepping the camp fire, gathering and processing wood, I usually have gloves on. I normally take them off when starting a fire from a bundle or nest. Hands are far more sensitive to heat giving better feedback when working your nest. Another informative video. Nice upload.
