My husband and I went to Hobbiton In 2008. We loved it!! It looks like they have made it like Hobbits still live in them now. We were there after they had torn down the vegetation and decorations from filming the Lord of The Rings. Lovely country. Very friendly people.

I've been there too! It was raining when we went.I had the same problem you did - I was always the last one to move and had to hurry to catch up to my group. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but it's really amazing. Everything looks so real when you are there. They take really good care of the attraction I think.

I could never get that close to Bag End, especially if the front door was wide open, without running inside. I would bolt the door and yell at the employees.."YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!" Then me an Bilbo would eat second breakfast.
