As a Swede I have to say that there were literal tears in my eyes first time I heard this, I was laughing so hard. The "Guitar tech to Amon Amarth" broke me, I just folded over laughing. If anyone's offended, please chill. If you can't stand a little friendly jab, you're not standing on solid ground. This is hilarious! Thanks for a great reaction!

Hi dude. Thanks for the reaction, I appreciated that it was well thought out and genuine, not simply a "play and headbang along" video ;) I produced and mixed the song, and the only thing I would add is... no, all their songs have the same attitude, the band is a tzunami of puns and satire. It's not a "serious" band taking a break, they are mad in the brain, but they take madness very seriously :D Cheerz!

When this album came out they tried to do shows in actual IKEA stores but they got shot down. Instead they did unofficial meet ups with their fans in Ikea stores and hid Cds around the store and did other games with them. These guys know how to have fun!

Well, this was unexpected lmao. Great choice for Christmas Eve! Edit: Man, it was delightful to watch you go from “hmmm” to “wtf” to “LOL”. This band is pure fun! If it’s not already in your queue, I recommend “Norwegian Reggaeton”; as a South American person who is surrounded by reggaeton on a daily basis that one gave me LIFE, man.

Nanowar is a comedy band from Rome(Italy) that takes seriously their parodies...they are the Monty Python of Metal!!! All of their songs are plenty of jokes, puns and easter eggs...you mentioned the movie Trading Places...well,here in Italy it is considered a classical xmas movie and it's aired by italian tv every Christmas Eve...not to mention that here the italian title is "Una Poltrona Per Due" (An armchair for two)...it's another joke about furniture... don't know if you will react to some of their songs in the future, personally my favourites are Norwegian Reggaeton,Heavy Metal Kibbles, Hail to Liechtenstein, Barbie MILF Princes of the twilight and Ironmonger and of course their very first big hit Giorgio Mastrota (a parody about the italian Billy Mays)...great reaction and just subbed...merry Christmas from Italy!!!

FYI "Trading Places" is a classic Chrimstas movie that is broadcast in Italy every Christmas Eve. Also "Falegn-Amen" is a play on the word "Falegname" that means carpetenter in Italian. I would suggest you react to "Norwegean Reggaeton". Awesome reaction!

what i love about Nanowar is how clever and sophisticated their humour is. I dont care who you are, some of the jokes are going to go over your head - either cos you miss some reference to metal lore or your classical education isnt up to scratch

This band is absolutely great. They are masters of hiding any kind of references within their songs/videos. Beginning by their name. Nanowar (obviously a reference to Manowar) of Steel (the Name Change from Rhapsody to Rhapsody of fire - another Italian Rock/Metal band) Check out their songs "Polenta Taragnarock" (reference to the regional northern italian food "polenta taragna") they featured a well known Italian TV-Cook in this song), "Uranus" (selfexplaining) xD "Norwegian Reggeaton" (guess what´s the reference) btw. All of them are working full time in normal jobs, and making great, funny music is just their hobby.

Nanowar of Steel is definitely a comedy metal band, but it should be noticed that their name is a double metal pun - first Nanowar (playing on Manowar) and then they added "of steel" when Rhapsody had to change their name to Rhapsody of Fire.

Nanowar of Steel is a heavy metal parody band from Rome. Yes, they're very good, but they do this primarily for fun; they all have day jobs that are unrelated. You are correct that Odin was played by their guest, Angus McFife. Except, Angus McFife is actually a *song* by British power metal band Gloryhammer. The role of Angus McFife in the song of the same name was played by the former vocalist of Gloryhammer, Thomas Winkler, who appeared here as Odin. Appropriate, since Thomas Winkler is Swiss, which I believe would make him the only Scandinavian who was involved with this production.

Switzerland (where the Swiss are) is between Italy & Germany, and between France and Austria. It is nowhere near Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark).

20:26 : YES. This is their style. Nanowar Of Steel always make fun of everything, and uses references to the subject they're making a song about. They also often "refer" to a known older song/band by taking some of the lyrics or beat in a part of their songs, or just impressing the way the "older" band sings it.

It was great watching you laugh so hard, particularly a serious ode to ODIN; the father of fathers and now Master of IKEA! Great reaction as always. Nanowar made a career out of making fun of metal bands that take themselves too seriously. If you want the main example of that, it's them making fun of power metal in a song called "Barbie, MILF Princess of the Twilight".

"Nanowar of Steel is a serious band" 😂😂😂 The name might be the clue David. Just do Norwegian Reggaeton by them next. Or Uranus. They are great musicians but serious is not the first thing that comes to mind with this band (albeit their was it bass player holds PhD in astronomy).
