@sahilsheikh7712 жыл бұрын
ofcourse, Boycotting anything at person level is an example of FoE, unlike violent protests to stop things that you didn't like, anyday. If you don't like something or someone, just don't watch it, that's the real freedom of expression, real representation of power of common people or say True democracy. It also shows that those fake violent protests against Padmaavat, Bajirao mastani, was nothing but a PR stunt, because that's not how Indian public react when it actually doesn't want to watch something. That's the India I like, because I believe, Violence comes from either your frustrations or breach of trust you have experienced in paste from governing authorities. Exclusion of such thing this time shows people's trust in Constitution & Governing bodies. It's one of the most true representation of democracy of India in recent time. It's your freedom of expression to say anything or make anything, it's my freedom of expression to either Listen you or ignore your existence as a whole.

India is the mother of democracy, in such diverse country having free, fair, regular election is not a joke. We have a parliamentary form of government. The defacto (Prime Minister) is the representative of the people who voted during general election i.e, direct election, while dejury ( President ) is indirectly elected by proportional representation by means of single transferable vote. The parliamentary system adopted from British system while the power of Indian PM is equal to power of USA's President.

9:05 - Why would you even ask that question ? As an Indian having been here since birth and having gone through rough patches with power hungry politicians and backstabbers whom often seem to get the better out of you, I would still call India a *true democracy* . *Reason :* It is not about the rich and powerful exercising their power to control the poorer sections of society for vote bank politics but it is about *education and self realization of the power of the people to hold anyone and anything accountable* . The current Govt. has gone a long way in making people realize of this importance and further there needs to be a good solid opposition to even scan and weed out negativities from the ruling party which isn't the case because heads of most opposition parties are either power mongering communists or Naxals whom only hide their true face to please the public and make them vote for them. They derive lots of pension from the Govt. post retirement but *do nothing* for the country. Listen to their debates it is evident - they disrupt the parliament. However people can still hold anyone and anything accountable along with enjoy the rights disregarding gender or profession. This is a free society but weeding out other negativities like corruption takes time.

I love the democracy where there's no education needed where more than half of the ministers have a criminal record and you can participate in elections and run the country from jail after being convicted for most inhumane crimes. Love the way you said "maturing democracy". Delhi is not even 1% of this nation people see their loved once die in front of them as they can't afford a treatment after selling everything they had and then they say the healthcare is amazing that's why lakhs died in covid not coz we didn't had the treatment but we didn't had the most basic necessity "OXYGEN" that's the success story of Indian healthcare system. Jokes!

The moment you try to compare true democracy of India and western nations you will fall flat on face. India has its own set of issues which you would never see in the democratic fabric of western countries. There are no particular religious groups pelting stones, shutting down the state and demanding for ridiculous rights. Almost all the developed nations are short of tribals where education and development are shit talks. One video is not enough to give insight on any nation. The so called developed western countries have mountain of issues be it human rights or financial it's just that no platform ever discusses them.

India is a flawed democracy but compared with USA can also argue the same about America as well how it is not a perfect democracy. However, America beats India by a large margin when it comes to freedom of rights/speech. In India it's more like you have freedom of speech but you don't have freedom from consequences. We have a long way to go but we will get there. Another thing is the right to vote is never compromised. Even the worst critics of India can never complain election process in India. Indian healthcare is not free but very affordable compared to America (I saw a video of healthcare costs, some medication that costs 1000 dollars in America, you can get under 5000 rupees in India!) In government hospitals you can get medication for free, however when it comes to things like heart surgeries etc people prefer private hospitals. They can be very expensive but there are some schemes where they will deduct around 500 rupees per month and you can get medication in any hospitals government or private for free including all sort of surgeries etc.
@TheB6572 жыл бұрын
See, it appears _flawed_ because of power mongering politicians at the helm of affairs in many states whom literally "rule" the place like some king or emperor. Truth being that *civilians haven't realized (yes not uneducated of but "realized") their rights and power* and with these guys in the higher echelons perhaps one never will. This is what is making you think it is a _flawed democracy_ while it actually being *the democracy* as it is supposed to be unlike Federal structure and absolute powers of the American Govt. or Constitutional Monarchy like Britain. You can hold everyone and everything accountable and this is what sets India apart. The moneyed rich overpowering the poor is perhaps what you have in mind regarding a _flawed democracy_ but that is changing owing to more responsible professionals even in the field of Law. People are fed up with economic boom in small pockets. *Disclaimer : Am not a politician but a citizen and support cause rather than any political party* - The current Govt. and it's anti - corruption acts have at least raked up that sense of morals and justice in the people. Observe the coming years, a great change will happen.

While we love democracy, it can be hindrance as well, and that’s why development is hindered. While the countries are celebrated to have democracy. Even forced to adopt it. The global superpowers never ensured true democracy on global level. I am not a commie, and I would anyway prefer a bad democracy over communism and theocracy. But I don’t see democracies united. USA the so called first modern Democracy, never protected us when we needed it. It’s still poking us. And do you know why? Because they want same benefits they had from Chinese market and labour demography. That’s not going to happen in India. IF USA cares more about its capitalism than democracy, we are definitely not answerable to it. As you rightly pointed it out, they are not perfect. Secondly, in democracy, how to counter undemocratic forces? Like communalist, blasphemy, behaeding incidents ? If we make any law against it, USA BRITAIN,CHINA all will pounce on us as being HINDU SPREMACIST, ISLAMOPHOBIC. the fact is, victims will react, so Hindus will react violently someday. I wish they do at this point. Because I not feel my child is safe anymore.
