Jon being aged up and sent to the future was the worst thing to happen to both of these characters in the comics. I loved how Damian is Jon’s friend who gets him to be adventurous and more out going in some cases and Jon is able to finally get Damian to enjoy being a kid and having a close friendship with someone.

I haven't read the comics, but I know that before Jon's age was increased, Damian was three years older. They simply swapped places in seniority, now Jon is three years older.
@classicghostrider27152 ай бұрын
@@monicaavgust7625 I think Jon was 11 but I’m not sure of that myself. Who’s older doesn’t matter to me, they were about the same age, kids, you know. I remember someone pointing out that since in God of War 4, Kratos keeps his godhood a secret from his son, Atreus probably grew up thinking his dad's absurd feats of superhuman strength were just what any adult could do. Clark obviously tries to conceal his powers, but I bet you his son likewise would've spent his childhood just accepting that all dads never got hurt and were super strong.

We all know how schools “zero tolerance policies” can be ineffective and often lead to worse and worse outcomes for the victims of bullying. But while we know in our heads that he’s right because that’s exactly what worked with Damian, we feel in our hearts that he’s wrong about Melvin because we see no redeemable qualities in him. So, do we take these words at face value and try to be like the heroes that inspire us? Or do we continue to hide behind our pessimism and not offer forgiveness to our attackers?

I adore how they cast real life married couple, Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey (who I have had a crush on for 20 years), as Clark and Lous. Edit: Add on Jorl El is played by Nolan North who was Clark and Conner Kent in Young Justice and Troy Baker is Batman again (he was in Telltale Batman).

Speaking of *Batman: Telltale* , Travis Willingham & Laura Bailey also played a "couple" in it, voicing Harvey Dent (and doing a great job at that... Two-Face has always been in my top 2 favorite Bat-rogues, and this game did him perfectly) and Selina Kyle. I love those games, I would have been so happy to get another one, but it seems like it's not a realistic possibility anymore. (I've also heard Troy Baker voicing Bruce in the *Batman vs TMNT* movie, in which he also did af; I know he played Batman in a bunch of Lego Batman games & movies, but I never got into them, except for the one that came out in theaters, so I can't give my opinion on those) Can't wait to see him as Jonah Hex in *Justice League: Warworld* in a couple months from now... >

I watched this video because I loved the Supersons comics and didn't plan to watch the actual movie but you brought out the reason why I loved the books. Supersons was the best thing to come out of DC in a while AND THEY CANCELLED IT for absolutely no reason. It was one of their most popular titles when it used to run in 2016 and 2017 but they ended up aging up Jon and ruining it. My favourite thing about the title was how positive it was when it came to depicting parenting. The books were obviously targeted towards kids and had a lighter tone but the way they depicted Clark, Lois, Bruce and Alfred as parents who actively tried to enrich the lives of the two children blew me away. Even Talia who the comics acknowledge to be a weird and undesirable parent expresses nothing but love for Damian whenever she shows up. Non-comic readers are probably thinking how the depiction of good parenting would make a factor to like these books but let me tell you in the main stories Batman doesn't really come across as a great parent or even good father figure and Talia's parenting is often dependent on how antagonistic the writer is feeling towards her character. Positive depictions of parenting always make me happy

How is Zukko not a superhero? :) Granted, a lot of other people have his powers in their world, so he lacks the 'uniqueness' quality that is common in, y'no, comic books and such, but he's a powered individual who makes moral choices (eventually) in an effort to make the world a better place, and at immense (and repeated) cost. Or so it seems to me. He is vastly more *human* than virtually every other superhero worth a damn, though. I love how broken he is and how he finds a way to fix that. Or rather finds people who can help him fix it.
@alecLogan Жыл бұрын
On the one hand, he doesn’t have a secret identity, but an alter ego, on the other hand, that alter ego _quickly_ gets retired as soon as it becomes “unnecessary.” To the tune of making choices for the greater good, sure, he’s ‘heroic’ (despite being a terror until we get to know him better, it’s clearly shown he errs on the side of principles more than force, and had an innate softer touch that had to be burned to _make_ him as harsh as he is), but he doesn’t fight “villains,” he (mostly) fights pricks who should know better.

Damian and Jon are a easy way to tell a Elseworld's story of Superman and Batman coming of age together without it having to be Esleworld's and forcibly retconned into continuity later. If Clark and Bruce view each other as brothers, then magnify that to get an idea of the relationship between Damian and Jon. They are closer to each other than Tim and Conner ever were. If you want to see how they fare as adults, DCeased was a great story by Tom Taylor that heavily focuses on the both of them.

From the brief clips I watched, there's a really good nod to Lois Lane as a hardcore investigative reporter (meaning she has some skills not unlike those of a private eye) and as an army brat. She figured out that Starro was vulnerable to heat when Jonathan attacked the parasite controlling her with heat vision, and used the tactical training her father likely taught her on Jimmy to make sure he wasn't being controlled. Getting into the Oval Office primarily to tell Jonathan to kill the alien with heat is kinda bonkers, but it's ballsy, and it _is_ a superhero movie, physics and laws tend to get thrown out the window.

Agreed, great movie. For once, fatherly figures are not only portrayed as respectable but also as much needed for their families, aka their children. The movie works because it follows a natural and universal pattern which is that of children needing and searching for a loving family, a mother and a father. The lack of family, particularly of the father, almost always results in poor behavior, portrayed through Damian who is just recently getting to spend time with his. Bruce knows that discipline is the key for raising boys that will become GREAT MEN. What many confuse with being cold is actually a father teaching his son how to be a man. I could write a whole essay on the thing, in fact I think I am but not here. Overall, a much needed film.
