I LOVE when a band treats her backing singer like the star of the show. In spite of everything that I could read about him (it's not often said that he's a nice approachable character) the way Jim the frontman leaves Robin her space in the spotlight is incredibly generous and cool.

I love all the positive comments. You almost never see that on KZbin. This is a moment in time that I'm glad I get to experience, even if only through a computer monitor. To be there in person would have been soooooo awesome.

Live Ahoy was so much crisper and cleaner than City of Light but I never realized it until HD.. I bought city of light in 86 and thought it was the best SM live album. I only watched Live Ahoy on MTV in 85 on a mono 19 inch color tv when MTV aired it. Greatest version of Alive hands down....

Wow! This concert is probably the highlight of the lives of all the people there. Robin is more than a backup singer on this song. Jim might be the front man for SM, but in this song she takes them to a whole new level. She rocks. From 6:07 to the end, you're listening to a voice without peer.

I know, she's a friend of mine on myspace as well. Totally cool and classy, we talked about what the atmosphere was like in the studio when they were recording this song. I told her it must have been ethereal when her stanza came into being, I still get goosebumps some twenty plus years later! Simple minds is just not Simple minds without Robin Clark!!!!

What a bummer that Jim Kerr's ego became so big and got in the way because it just became such a turnoff. He would have been nothing without the incredible sounds and music that the other musicians put together. Charlie Burthill, what a legend in music writing and guitar playing and I do not know how he stuck with Kerr because none of the other musicians ever did !!
