I really appreciate your humility in saying “if I’m wrong let me know” as we are constantly growing and learning in the Word as Jesus intends. I wanted to shed some light on 1 Corinthians 14 as there is wide spread confusion and misunderstanding regarding tongues that has led many astray. In Acts 2:1-13 when the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost enabling the disciples to speak in tongues, the word tongues is literally translated languages. And this makes sense, because in the next few verses, we see that there were God-fearing Jews from All nations, and all of them heard the disciples speaking their native language from their native land, enabled by the Holy Spirit. “When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ This word tongues means the same thing when used in the rest of the scripture such as first Corinthians 13 and 14. It is not an Inaudible language: meaning made up words that can’t be found in any known language. This gift of the Holy Spirit was given only to the apostles at Pentecost for the purpose of sharing the gospel with people, in all nations of which they hadn’t learned the language. Tongues is no longer needed as the gospel has been spread to all nations in all languages. “Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬ In regards to prophecy: “Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬ This verse in acts correlates to 1 John 4:1 “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Prophets spoke the word of God and what was to come concerning Jesus. When someone calls themself a prophet and tells you things that are going to happen in your future that’s a fortune telling derived from a spirit that is not God’s. This is why John tells us to be careful about false prophets “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.‬‬ Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Prophecy is solely based on proclaiming what is to come about Jesus from God by way of the Holy Spirit. I simply share this to assure that we are learning and teaching Jesus accurately as there’s is so much false doctrine to cypher through today. Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life and we can only have life with him done his way by his truth! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

PLEASE be aware of false prophets🙏🏼 especially in the last days we have many warnings of jesus that people will try to deceive true christians and that they will try to be in place of jesus… meaning taking over things ONLY jesus can do (eg forgiving sins, …) the enemy is smart and lurking… just a warning to be truely careful here🙏🏼🫶🏼 especially for the end times (&read your bibles and put them first)

Truly was encouraged by this!! Absolutely loved listening to the topic about prophecy plus how to spread the gospel to others☺️ whether we want to or not it never hurts to try. Just a suggestion but it would be amazing if you could talk more about prophecy and gifts from the Lord😃!! Love your kind heart and content 💛

There’s different tongues. There’s the one that requires interpretation because it’s for others benefit (as a ministry gift) but there’s one that edifies yourself personally and builds you up spiritually - which is something every Christian should desire. We did a bible study on this some time ago. In the book of Acts when people were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues, it wasn’t a “private” thing. They all began speaking and there was no interpreter there at that moment that the bible mentions. If we’re in church and we’re worshiping God, during that worship a few people may decide to speak in tongues or the pastor might also, but there doesn’t need to be an interpreter there in that moment. Tongues isn’t a way to show off your spirituality etc but it’s either to edify yourself or others. Some bible refs: Acts 10:45-46, Acts 19:4-6, 1 Corinthians 12:28-30 (here we see tongues as a gift for *ministry*)

Glad to hear you speak on the topic of tongues, many Christian’s think it died with the prophets but it’s a gift as available to us as any other gift, yes people have abused it’s use, just like other gifts, just read your Bible and study and pray with humility about it and God will bring you clarity and understanding. We have people that speak in tongues in our church during corporate prayer and worship, and we have sometimes at the end someone will speak out in tongues and someone will interpret, which is a balance of both building up the church and people, and edifying self.

God is one step ahead of us at all times. Thank you so much for that and God bless you and Kaleb for speaking to that man on your honeymoon 😊

As time goes on, Jeanine pls speak on the adjustments to having quiet time more. Would love any ideas/tips because it is trueeee omg such a challenge after marriage. I’ve found after marriage 1) quiet time 2) fitness routines 3) diet to be the hardest areas to work out how to do them individually vs together.

AMEN! Thank you for being obedient in sharing the Gospel! All glory to God. That was such an encouragement to me especially when sometimes I know I should be sharing, but it feels awkward. The beauty and simplicity of the Gospel I will always be in awe of! What an amazing Savior we have! I’ve recently read through Hosea, and Hosea was obedient to God EVEN THOUGH he knew the outcome was to an unfaithful wife, Gomer. That is a representation of us!! We are so easily unfaithful to our might God! Thanks for sharing!!

The speaking in tongues in front of everyone is so interesting cause the conference I attended they were all speaking in tongues in front of everyone and I thought that was a bit intimidating cause I did not understand what they were saying and I have never seen this happen in church so the fact it happened at that conference made me wonder if that was done incorrectly as you said and the Bible said it is supposed to be done in private. So thank you for touching on that! I think that’s very eye opening
