To the younger viewers, just to let you know I am a Christian woman who is 34 waiting until marriage. Do not let someone else’s timeline of marriage and engagement get the way of God’s timeline. Hence in my younger 20s I dated guys, a majority of them weren’t Christian men because for me I knew in my 20s he just had to go to church with me no matter what. At 25 I prayed for God to send me the right man and he did, but delayed because I was not ready for this godly relationship. I went through 7 months of a test to 10 years when God could transform me be a better woman for the one he sent then bring us together again. What I’m saying is everyone’s story will be different and don’t compare yourself to others if you aren’t married by 25. Don’t set a limit on what an amazing God we serve can do!!!!
@lukek1949 Жыл бұрын
Lindsey, beautiful story! Thank you for sharing. There is so much pressure on young people. Even to experiment sexually with multiple people before deciding. That is just asking for trouble! I can tell from your comment the Holy Spirit has worked wonders on you. May the Lord continue to bless you!

Beautiful story! Thanks for sharing! I agree with you. The worst thing you can do is to force a relationship that is not for you just because you imagined life differently.
@tatie76048 ай бұрын
Umm. You seriously needed to date a man twenty years older. You still do. A thirty-four year old woman is considered old. Truth. A thirty-four year old man is young. You need to look for a man about sixty years old. Even then, he is looking for younger women than you are. You need to wise up. Stop living in delusion. Find an older Christian man. Do not waste your time on men your own age. You've done that long enough. And you'll be waiting and waiting and probably never marry if you don't change your mindset. These boys here will be ready to marry a younger woman when they are about thirty-five. They'll still be attracted to a twenty year old girl. Sorry, that is the way it REALLY IS.
@tatie76048 ай бұрын
Yes. They'll make good husbands at about age thirty-five. That is young for a man. They need a career-- not a job. You'll be their mommy, not a wife, if you marry them now or anytime within the next fifteen years. They'll go for a twenty year old woman at thirty-five because that will actually work for them. Sorry. Men are truly attracted to younger women. A woman their age is far too old for them. @Mrs.WordSmith.GEN_8zero

Personally-as a Christian girl-I don’t have a preference for what you look like, as long as you have a solid faith in God, and a good personality. And like it was said in the video, please open up, please be vulnerable. Because honestly, if I was dating someone, and they didn’t show any emotion or wouldn’t open up to me because they thought it ‘wasn’t manly’, I would stop dating them, because it doesn’t show that they trust me. And trust is a big thing for me. I need someone who will both laugh with me and cry with me. Also, I am currently absolutely not looking for a relationship, but would want one someday if God wills.

It's sad that some people think showing emotion isn't manly. You know what they're right, God gave us emotions and he didn't assign them to a certain gender. Why does being "manly" matter so much? The most manly thing you can do is be a man of God. After that you're set.

@@resvero8342 Showing emotions doesn't mean being controlled by them. If you hurt others or act unreasonably out of emotion, that's being controlled by them. As a woman, I feel uncomfortable with a “timeline “ for proposing will be based on time. You mentioned “if everything is going great, and we spend every day together, than 5-6 months.” Personally, I would not want to say yes to marry someone just because everything is going great. It is important to me that I go through some hardships with them before I make that decision. I need to see how they react and how we would handle it as a couple. Would they be emotionally mature? Would we pray about it together? Would they find ways to support me, and accept support from me and others in their life? I do not think anyone should get married without first going through something difficult together. And you can measure or define that however you like. But just because things are “going great” and you spend every day together, does not mean you should marry that person. Tons of relationships can be good in good times. What matters more is if they can survive and conquer the bad times together, and still share a mutual respect and love through the whole process.
@jessjohnson8711 Жыл бұрын
I think thats a fair point. with a lot of these takes on long term details for relationships, trying to create a fixed metric based on time rather than actual experiences can be dangerously unrealistic. U cant rlly plan for these things they just happen, i guess.

Yk being from India, just 18 rn tho. But i was having a talk about the future with my parents a few weeks ago. And i kid you not, telling my 'indian parents' that i have had crushes was one of the most dangerous things i have done lol. But i thank God for we all are growing spiritually everyday, and they were really understanding, that was realllyy unexpected as an Indian. My dad is a pastor btw. So yes, i was telling them about how i want to marry a "Christ-centered man" who would also help me with my spiritual life and even i would help him. And yk when i mentioned the word, "date" once, in the middle of the talk, yk what my mom said? She told me that "You will never get to know how much 'Christ-centered' a person is, even after spending a lot of time with them" and that actually hit me hard. Because she is right indeed, many people pretend to know Christ but do not actually know him. They pretend to act like a sheep. Not saying that all people do that, but many do. And then my dad added, "Yes. Just pray about it. God knows who will be the best for you. Your life partner might not be in the same school as you are in, but when you cross paths one day, God will put something in your hearts, you both will get to know that God has chosen you both to become one." Then he then said, "and when that happens, you come to us, tell us about it and we'll talk to his family." ;) Idk what things and who God has kept for me in the future but Ik His choices will be 1000 times better than mine. And Yes ofcourse, i'm praying with some requests. ;))

Because it can be wrong. Laughing is important. Having similar hobbies. Being attracted to each other, you know your type! Be honest! 😂 But the main thing is your prayer life. Alone and together. Make sure that you share a similar vision for what your life could look like together. And always make the most of the little things. Never stop dating each other. Even after marriage, always put that same effort in. Have humility majorly. Obviously lol and Love no matter what. ❤

4? I'm one of 14! 😂No seriously though, I am the 5th one down in 14 children. And when people ask how many kids I want to have, I say "as many as God blessed me with!"
@heavnxbound2 жыл бұрын
Wow, your parents must have been busy taking care of 14 kids 😂 I have a genuine question, hope it’s okay that I ask. Are you at all afraid of having children and everything it entails? I have never been very fond of children, even when I was one myself, always preferred the company of older kids or adults. I’ve also got a fear of pregnancy on top of that and both of those things make me feel like less of a Christian and woman if that makes sense, or a “lousy” one at best. Everyone seems to hold to the opinion that you have to desire children as a Christian if you want to be married, and I worry a man of God wouldn’t go for someone who doesn’t want kids. Sorry for ranting 😅

@@heavnxbound I personally have always desired marriage and as many kids as God will bless me with. I do not fear them, or pregnancy, or anything else. I can't wait till I'm married and have kids of my own! 9 of my siblings are younger then me, and I feel like a second mom to some of them. I can see how you might be scared. But I think that as a believer, you should be open to God's will for you. He did create us to reproduce. I think that as women, whether we want kids or not, we should leave it up to God.

The coffee shop statement is so hilariously true though. My dad approached a young man who was in a Starbucks reading a book by a famous Christian author. 😂

Saving yourself for marriage as much as possible (abstaining from experimenting with yourself and others) WILL spare you and your future spouse a lot of hurt and grieve. Please listen to me, I am speaking from own experience. The world is looking down upon it for short term gratification but it will lead to death if not for Jesus of course. So, if you know the truth - why then still doing what's harmful? Please don't make up your mind to learn only from your own mistakes if people who have been there tell you what it is like. It might cost you everything but it is worth everything.

I get what you mean by grow closer to God, but the better way of saying that would be to say that you want people to mature in their relationship with Christ. In Corinthians it says that we are one spirit with the Lord, so you can't really say that we are progressively growing closer to Christ. Closeness with God is not determined by how well we do in our actions but by our oneness in God. You can't get closer to God then being one spirit with Him. We ARE growing, however, in our depth and maturity of this relationship, but not in the distance/closeness dimension of our relationship. Hope that makes sense. This is a great video! Funny too.

As a Christian woman these questions are wild lol I always thought that Christian women and men wanted who God has for them. Like… I no longer have a type because I’m trusting God to lead me to the person he has for me because I know who God has for me is going to be perfect for me. The holy spirit will always let you know. lol but to each their own 😊❤️
