Okay, this is probably the absolute best beginners tutorial I've watched. I've wated crochet vids and they just confused me more often than they'd help. But this one I can actually understand, not to mention I can now make snails for my knitted floral wall art I've been working on for a year. XD

I did it two times already. The little snails are so cute!!! Thank you very much for this adorable pattern. I personaly did the tail of the snail just a little bit less flat by starting with 4 stiches then 6 and then 8. And I tied a little tiny knot at the end of the feelers, which looks so cute that I could die :)

I had a stroke on Oct 23, 2014 and I have always enjoyed crochet. I started a baby afghan on Oct 1, 2014 on the tunisian lacy stitch. I had nearly finished before I had the stroke. Your tutorials have inspired me to start beginning crochet again. I am working on snail for a gift, Soon, I will try the basic tunsian stitch and finally the tunsian lacy stitch and finish this baby afghan; the baby is due April 5, 2015. Thank you for much.

*helpful tip* im a beginner and i find doing the beginning in a magic ring instead of 4 chains so much easier. i have never been able to do it with 4 chains but the magic ring is so easy probably because i can see the individual stitches easier

A tip for the Antennae/eyes: You can also make them while doing the body: if you reached the head-area, do 1/3 of a round and than a few chain-stitches. skip the last chain-stitch and do some single crochets into the backside of the next one for a rounded tip. Do slipstiches all the way along the chain back to the round. Do another 1/3 of the round without skipping a stitch and repeat the steps there. do the last 1/3 ff the round and the last few rounds as normal. I already made antennae for a butterfly this way. If they should be eyes, you can sew tiny black beads tu the tips of them.

Great pattern. Only change I made was to make the shell all in one piece. I simply reversed your directions, substituting invisible decreases for increases. It turned out great. I also put safety eyes in the head earlier for added cuteness.
@aza45233 жыл бұрын
I started to make this cause I’m teaching my friend how to crochet! We’re not in-person teaching, we live in a 2 hour time zone (they’re ahead of me) and we do it over discord! I was confused, and still am. But, in my defense, I work and have been doing a lot of M.C (Magic Circle), INC (Increases), DCR (Decrease), etc, for other things. It’s both me and my friend learning how to this at the same time. Soo. While they sleep I’m gonna figure this out! Thank you so mu h for making this video! It give me something to do and teach about! And the same goes for my friend! I can’t really describe how much this video means to me, so once again, thank you! Edit! So instead of skipping a stitch to increase, I did a double crochet (crochet 2 in the same stitch) once very round. It does add up to 12, as long as you only do one double crochet every 1 round until row 15

Some things that may help! (They did for me personally) On row 12, do a double crochet unit the first stitch (two crochets in the same stitch). Do that until row 15, ONLY ONCE per round. You’ll get 12 total in the end, since it’s increasing by one. Decrease- On row 15, loop one chain in one stitch, then one more in the next. Make sure they’re not finished, cause once you have three on your hook, do a slip stitch through them, then crochet the rest. You can also do an involve decrease, same as normal, expect, slip stitch through 2, then do a double crochet into the last 3. You can look up videos if this isn’t helpful or you want to know more! Also! I suggest you go through both loops in a stitch, instead of one. (You can also make a magic circle, crochet 8, then work your way up to row 11) This is what I did, personally!! For the body!
