I have this movie on the original FHE VHS, the 2006 DVD (held onto it as the new blu-ray's missing some of the extras) and the new blu-ray. I was disappointed with the lack of new extras on the blu-ray as well. This is the real Transformers movie.

I have the Rhino DVD, the 20th Anniversary DVD, and this new Blu Ray. My VHS copy died from over use. While I agree that the special features aren't as much as the 20th Anniversary, this movie looks amazing on Blu Ray.

I'm 19 my parents was always poor when I was little so we would lose our tv channels allot and just have free ones but there was a tv channel called pop and pop Jr in the UK and they would play really old tv shows and one I'd always watch was transformers to this day I adore the original series I was never a fan of gen 2 I watched it but there was somthing so beautiful about the original starscream will always be my favriot transformer close to sound wave I'm a huge fan of the deceptions for some reason xD I love everything about gen 1 and I remember when my young mind watched it this being around 2006 - 2007 and when optimus died I cried tons I loved all of the transformers even though decepticons was my favriot I loved them all and when galvatron killed starscream I was just as upset then the movie is timeless to those who love transformers gen 1 I may not have lived threw the 80s but I like to think that I have just as much right to love gen 1 of transformers it truly is a timeless classic and I wish instead of the horrible reboots and remakes they would show kids of today transformers g1 p.s devastation was amazing !!!!

Jay Bond same goes for me. I’m in my early twenties and I was given two vhs tapes when I was a kid from my friend. Now I already had ideas of who the transformer character were because Transformers Armada had been on tv for a while. One of the tapes had a few episodes of the transformers from season 2 and the other was the transformers movie. I watched the crap out of those vhs tapes as a kid. Loved the original G1 so much, and I am so glad they did an awesome love letter to the series by making the game Transformers Devastation.

This was the only movie I would watch when I was a kid. I used to rent it with my mum from Blockbusters. It got to the point that the tape had worn so when the dinobots are on that planet with cup and hotrod it stopped. That didn't stop me renting it. I would watch it till that point then rewind and watch again. Best movie ever!

He has made paintings and boxart for several model kits and anime works since many decades ago... I believe he has been active since the 1950s. He is like 81 years old and still working!!! Goggle image his name and you will see some pieces of his work...

I gotta give you high five as well. I have this movie on VHS, DVD, and the Aussey Blu ray. I only have the original score on CD. But this movie had a huge effect on me the first time I watched it. Seeing the Autobots die was shocking. Optimus Prime dying was blew me away. I could get around bluestreak or other ones being killed off but Optimus Prime was my favorite. I was so upset about it that I don't like anything beyond G1. It wasn't until the Michael Bay movies that I was able to enjoy something Transformers that wasn't G1.

That's some sick artwork! This movie impacted my life in big way when I first saw it. I made my own Transformer costume out of card board boxes and turned myself into a truck. lol I wish I had pictures of this. So anyhoot, I think there was a point in the comics that Cybertron DID transform and his name was Primus. Maybe it was just fan art, but I've heard so much about him since.

Thank you for making this video. When it was announced that transformers would be made into a live action film, I was so hoping that it would become like Transformers the Animated Movie. The soundtrack, the songs are the best. When Optimus landed and said: "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost." Then "The Touch" drops, just the best!

When I was a kid I used to go to the video store every second weekend and hire Transformers the Movie. It was such an old VHS and you couldn't buy it anywhere. Must have watched it like 50 times. The few times that it was hired out I was seriously crushed. So funny to think back on it now.

I loved your artwork. great job. the colors are absolutely amazing. That Transformer @ 11:24 has a similar actual Transformer but not with the weapons as you have it. It was a Transformer that used to kick up automatically when you would wind it backwards. That was one I actually had. I forgot his name though. In a suitcase under my dresser about 5 feet away from me. I STILL have a handful of the Marvel Comics which were IMO far better than the cartoons. We rarely had cable growing up and I'd always wanted to watch the cartoon. So the only time I'd get to see Transformers was when we went out of town and stayed in a hotel on weekends. I'd wake up super early (3am) and watch the cartoons xD. But compared to the comics it felt really dumbed down. The movie though...... wow. I was sooooo fucking mad that the ONE TIME my parents and grandparents refused to take me to a movie when we were on our trip to the PNE. It was when The Transformers Movie was airing. lol. We'd go see a movie every other day when we were in Vancouver (usually stayed there 2 - 3 weeks at Capilano Campgrounds). So when I got to rent it on VHS. I watched that motherfucker like 10 times in the 2 day rental. haha. I still wish I could have seen it on the big screen with the massive surround sound.

G1 fans should all play Transformers Devastation. It's a great game. Don't care what the haters say. My son and I have put over 30 hours into it in spite of the short main campaign and backtracking. We love G1 and even like the movie even though Floro Dery corrupted it with too much campy '70s scifi after season 3 and caused it to crash and burn for a while after Hasbro wanted to sell new toys. Still give him credit with making the series popular though and breathing life into robots in the Diaclone and Microman toy lines. Otherwise, Transformers would be little more than a bunch of lifeless super robot toys. G1 forever.

I'm still a huge Transformers fanatic. The G1 movie is still my favorite ever! Actually, as I'm sitting here in my home office, I'm surrounded by a massive collection of figures. My son and I really bonded over bots. Check out some of the modern takes on the characters, like the MAsterpiece line and the 3rd party figures. They're amazing! Plus the Generations line, Combiner Wars, and Titans Return from Hasbro. So good! And, lets not forget the IDW comics. More Than Meets The Eye is a wild ride, and has some crazy twists. I won't hard spoil it, but theres time travel, torture, and an unexpected Decepticon turns AUTOBOT!

Dunno about 'exactly like the movie' character model wise... Its more Dreamwave/IDW era rendering...! The Prime at 9:11 for example with the pronounced protruding thick silver window frames, the increased panelling on the arms, the mid arm joints that were MP01 derived etc etc But the colourisation/shade emulation is very anime exact. Very nice work.

Who are all these new characters? where is Optimus Prime... haha but I quickly started to love the new cast and season 3 :) My mom did buy me a comic adaption of the movie, so that's how I experienced the story.

Transformers was never a part of my Childhood as i was born in 1990, however when I heard the 2007 movie was coming, I thought I'd familiarise myself with this franchise, and I checked out the animated movie, while It didn't have the same Impact on me as it did for fans, I loved the animation, Action scenes, characters, and the music Oh my god the music was Incredible both the songs and background score are in constant rotation on my playlist, amazing stuff!

I promised by an uncle to go and see in the theaters, but it never happened. Eventually I bought the original DVD(yellow banner) and then the 20th Anniversary 2-disc. I showed it to my two step-sons (9 & 15) about a year ago and they absolutely loved it. Other than the Transformers cartoon, I was also big into He-man(after school), Dungeons & Dragons and Spider-man & his Amazing Friends(both Saturday mornings). Side note: I also use to draw quite a bit, after a stint in the Army and plenty of 3rd shift guard duty or radio watch occupied by drawing, I'm Just don't have the motivation that I use too. My big inspiration to learn to draw was He-man & the Masters of the Universe.

I'm a huge Transformers fan, I was born in 73 so as a little kid it was all about Star Wars and the toys. I was 11 once Transformers premiered and I was immediately hooked. It was my new obsession. I was to the point of not playing with toys anymore but they were so cool I just wanted them to transform a few times and then put on a display shelf. I ended up with a huge collection. Was totally worth the time and effort. I do have to say though I was totally disappointed with the movie. I do like it I just don't love it like I do the first two seasons of the TV show. I to this day feel one of the biggest mistakes in movie history was to kill Prime and all the other great characters off just to introduce new ones to sell new toys. My opinion is they should've just started a new TV show that would've come on right after the original show (season 3 would've been Prime vs Megatron and Season 1 of the new show would've been Rodimus vs Galavatron) and it would've been accepted better. The show wouldn't have lost it's popularity and the new toys would've been better accepted and sold more. I was so soured by them killing Prime that when I would watch season 3 with all the new guys I would compare the coolness of them to the coolness of the original guys and it just didn't stack up. It was cool and all because it was still Transformers but it just lost some of it's magic. As a kid watching one Transformer show was great but if we would've got 2 shows back to back I would've been all over that. I mean I was already watching He-Man, G.I. Joe, Voltron, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Robotech & Battle of the Planets so one extra half hour of great stuff would've been excellent in my book. Then if they wanted to bridge the gap they could've come out with the movie in 89 or 90. Personally we only got 65 episodes with the original guys when I wanted double or triple that. I wanted a five or six season run. Had that happened I would've been more then happy to support and get into more the new generation of robots. The only thing I liked about season 3 was how many episodes are on Cybertron. That was cool. Thundercats had like 130 episodes made, I felt we got ripped off with G1 not getting that many with Prime before they decided to kill him. I know that the big wigs totally regretted their decision after they realized nobody was really watching the new show in comparison to the original guys. So after all my ranting there lol I do like the movie but have a slight disdain for it ever since coming out of the theater still after all these years. For those who love it and it doesn't bother them that they killed Prime that's cool you can do that. I can't.

I grew up with Beast Wars. And I LOVE G1! the pride of my collection is and remains Fortress Maximus! In my comic book Movie, Unicron's head reformatted Galvatron into Galvatron 2, oh and Prime and ultra Magnus would combine. Scorponok was an ancient titan that was discovered by the Combaticons, and Unicrons minions were the predacons/predaking (dont ask lol).

One of my favorite movies of all time! I ignore the fact that it was a blatant cash grab excuse to release more toys. I still love the movie! The picture quality wins on the 30th a anniversary 1986-2016 release sadly the majority of the special features were pretty much just from the 20th anniversary release. The import Blu ray has way more special features and wins in that respect hands down IF you can play them. The movie is in 1080p so it plays fine on for example PS3. The special Features are in pal DVD resolution 720*576 that is why the consoles wont play the special features. Played fine on my pc though. I also have the vhs,dvd,20th anniversary dvd, and the 2 blu rays I love the movie. I also have 2 releases of the CD soundtrack normal and 20th. Did any one else pick up the vinyl 30th anniversary soundtrack? I do NOT have a record player at the moment but I just had to have it L.O.L. Sadly I missed it in theaters back in 1986 when the movie came out.

Was the very first movie i saw at the cinema, was so hyoed as TF was my life, i was only 6! one of the greatest motion pictures in history, had the soundtrack on in the car today. still the best.
