I played CS 1.6 for about 5 years back from 15-20 years old (2002-2007). During that time period I had a lot of anger issues. I would break keyboards in half, throw mice across the room, and snap headsets over my head. I was extremely competitive. What even caused me to stop playing CS was my relationship with my mom. During the 5 years I played, I ruined our interactions. I would yell at her every time she came into my room since she was interrupting my gaming. I won’t play online games anymore, every time I do the anger starts to come up.

So, I have a funny story about my gamer rage game. When I was 15 I watched a lot of AVGN and the one video I constantly remember watching was the Ninja Gaiden episode. Well after saving all my money I went and bought the game and played through it for a week and eventually after hours and hours of trying my darndest I got to the final boss. Beat the first form and kept dying on the second form that eventually I gave up in a fit of rage. Five years later I ended up replaying the game and beat it within the same time frame with my thumbs going numb because I wanted to beat the game so badly. I did end up playing through the other two games and won through all three on the NES.

The nameless king in Dark Souls 3 made me lose my mind, took about 40 attempts to beat him, the worst thing about souls games is it doesn’t let you instantly retry the boss, you have to make your way all the back to him to die again in 4 seconds
@Jordan3DS3 жыл бұрын
I think the worst thing about the Souls games is that it has bosses that take 40 attempts in general... that's not on you, that's on the game for being poorly designed and cheap. I feel like the Souls games have made people in recent years start to celebrate bad game design rather than condemning it.
@user-yi5mt2df5q3 жыл бұрын
@@Jordan3DS Just because a game is hard, it doesn't necessarily have bad game design. Each of the Souls games aren't that difficult compared to titles from the 8-bit era. If anything, they are quite fair. You get punished for getting hit, and you get rewarded for dodging. Also, you are given access to 10 or more healing items. Imagine an NES game like that? You can also grind if you are really struggling with the game.
@Laros823 жыл бұрын
I heard about that...That's prob the reason I didn't even touch a Souls Game haha
@thedarkknight2213 жыл бұрын
@@user-yi5mt2df5q exactly. The souls games are difficult, yes, but everything the bosses do is telegraphed and can be avoided. You just have to learn the telegraphs and whether to run, or whether to dodge and in what direction. Also have to learn when it's smart to heal.
@Jordan3DS3 жыл бұрын
@@user-yi5mt2df5q There's a massive difference between hard but fair and cheap, though. When a game has a boss kill you in 2 or 3 hits, then that's not providing a fair challenge, that's demanding perfection and punishing the player for not mastering the game (which no game should ever do unless you're on some super insanely hard difficulty or something like that). Something like God Hand is a good example of a fair game, where you have to take a lot of hits to die and have to be good at the game to succeed, but you don't need to keep fighting the same boss 15 times to memorize its pattern in order to continue the game. Dark Souls is the equivalency of having a 20 x 100 grid where you start at the bottom and have to find the right path to the top. Sure, you'll get a little farther each time you attempt it, but you can't really say that it's exactly well designed in terms of difficulty or fairness, it's all just mindless repetition until you memorize the pattern.

Whenever I get too angry it’s best to quit and try again later. The more tense I am the worse I play. As annoying as it is to give up, a good nights sleep usually does more for me than endlessly trying the same battle over and over.

The best way to get gamer rage is to have to do an annoying mini game perfectly. No mistakes allowed.

@rockman fan The one that comes to me mainly is Paper Mario: The Origami King doing the shy guys finish last minigames perfectly is nearly impossible without cheating by recording it. I did need to do it for 100% though and yes I did cheat, no regrets.

Full comboing in rhythm games. It doesn't make me rage but it's still annoying and dropping a note in the moment still hurts.

Hey, calm down Johnny, it's only a game! Man, I remember some serious rage. Just before we got the internet me and my buddy played Command and Conquer networked over a phone line, It was amazing but he wound me up so much, I remember getting so angry as he decimated my forces. We've all been there but this seemed more intense as we were playing online for the first time!

Not having the patience to play video games caused me to almost completely drop them during the PS3 era. I've played them much more during the PS4 era but I never did get back to being as interested as I was from the SNES - PS2 era. A lot of people find games to be something that allows them to wind down from the stress of their job but I found that my job devoured so much of my patience each day that I had nothing left for games anymore.

Rob in thumbail makes me laugh hard, cause he look like devil especially with flame effects and rage red skin color and with the thunderbolt and his angry face fits so well, while Johnny actually tries to look mad at his best! Oh man, i love these thumbnails! 🤣

Thanks for sharing! Do you guys recall your first experience with gamer rage? Probably my first with it was playing Gopher on the 2600. That and River Raid made my 6-7 year old self rage and somewhat 'break' the 2600 joystick more than once (though you could easily pop the joystick back in). To this day, watching Gopher will bring up those feelings without even playing it!

Even though this video was about GAMER RAGE, it seems like Rob is in good spirits. It may not be immediately apparent to you John, but having a friend as amazing as you has probably helped Rob a lot during his tough times. Life is tough and it really helps if you have someone to help you through it.

This video is hilarious, I used to punch holes into my bedroom door, the cheating computer opponent in street fighter 2 used to make me rage hard, I bought a 6 button controller and it lasted for 2 days, also Virtua racing trying to get the perfect lap and crashing into a stray Computer controlled car on the last corner of the last lap

when I was younger I was doing one of those time trials in Infamous 1, where you had to go from satellite dish to satellite dish. There was one in particular that I was stuck on for over half an hour, on my last attempt I was like one second off. so I flipped out, and punched this clip on the computer screen protector.. on the bright side, it did its job and protected my computer.

Demon souls, Dark souls, Dark souls 2, Dark souls 3 is all I will say. It´s a damn wonder my Controller is not broken. But man some games on PC made me rage allot and I always hit my hand on the desk screaming rely bad words. My dad one time had to check in on me asking are you beating some one up becuse it sure sounds like it.

Well I got few moments of gamer rage but most of it was years ago back when I was very young. But the most recent was playing shin megami tensei strange journey, I think it was 2019 or something. There's a boss next to the end of the game that was insanely hard. Smt games usually are hard but heiwbduejrueisnkee that was ridiculously insane. I think I spent an entire day just to beat that boss. That game is broken. Oh I just remembered also Devil survivor the boss that is immortal, literally, I forgot it's name. Lmao it's ridiculous. Just by thinking of it I start to laugh because I was so mad.

I remember raging at Nocturne recently. I was completely under-leveled whilst fighting the third fiend (the first rider). I just kept dying and dying. I hate how he is right outside a terminal. I also love how I would lose 30 minutes of progress because one attack would insta-kill the MC.

Every once in a while I like to buy those old school games to experience the past again, but I usually quit after just a few minutes, lol. Even with easier games like Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers on NES I can't even get past the first level.

I think most of my rage moments have been with Smash. I've had a bad habit in the past of both taking it too seriously with friends who weren't quite as into the game as I was and being a sore winner, but also being a sore loser when playing against people who were clearly better than me, been to tournaments often and such, and I shouldn't have ever felt bad about that at all.

Rob’s story about the coffee table hit home. I put my fist through the living room table (don’t even remember what game I was playing 🤦🏻♂️) and switched it out with the basement coffee table before the mrs. got home. Told her I just wanted to “change things up”. Took her almost a month to notice the hole that I placed a candle over in the table. Boy was she pissed...
