What is Shimmerblock in Terraria? Can you progress from nothing but a small pool of Shimmer all the way to defeating the Moon Lord? In this Terraria challenge map inspired by Skyblock, you start in a Master Mode world with nothing but your starter tools and a pool of shimmer in a mediumcore world.
Your goal is to not only survive but progress all the way to the Moon Lord and defeat them!

It's crazy how quick you're progressing! I'll admit I was dubious the map would work in an episodic format but you're making solid steps forward each episode and making it very entertaining to watch, keep it up! Unlocking the water bucket for fishing is such a huge step, now if only there was a way to get sand for the angler...

Thanks so much ChiefLogan_! I did a Skyblock series back in the day so I really enjoy this style of gameplay (it's like a Terraria puzzle!) I think now I just want to grind out some resources and setup my new farms properly before rushing ahead! 🍪

@@Theeldenringguy unfortunately the tavernkeep is unavailable in ShimmerBlock, he needs the EoW/BoC to be defeated which are both impossible on the map. There are other ways to get sand though

As to the question, I personally wouldn't mind Shimmerblock an every other day thing, so that it's not just a once a Saturday thing. Like have the getfixedboi series also every other day so that it's not just a full week of Legendary challenge and Saturday is Shimmerblock with a bonus getfixedboi later in the day. Love the progress that was made this episode.

If you throw a regular bomb right after you throw a dirt bomb, you'll speed up dirt farming by a lot. It also helps to have a chest were you throw the bombs so that you don't have to keep replacing the blocks.

@@happydaysgames alternatively, if you don't have money to spare for the extra bomb and you don't want to replace your stone block each time, you can make a gravedigger shovel (crafted at a work bench in a graveyard biome, it can mine "soft" blocks such as dirt in a 3x3 area)

Happy, whenever you can during later game, you should spread dirt at the bottom of the world, so you have the entire worldspace to fight bosses, build an arena, etc., that and your items won't fall in the void anymore! It'll help a lot.

Now that you've unlocked liquids, I hope you'll do the traditional liquid dupe trick to save yourself from an absurd amount of grinding. Fishing, automatic farming, next episode is looking like some BIG progress is going to be made. Now all you need is to figure out how to get bait for fishing and you're golden.

I was fully prepared to tell you about the lava to water shimmer trick.... but you figured it out. Remember you can still make your own biomes and fish for crates... but you probably know that too lol. love these videos.

I've made so many pyramid traps cuz of your vids, they're the best! This shimmer skyblock is like a puzzle! Getting lava frommlava slimes is not something I would've thought of in 100 years! Happy Happy! I don’t know if you realized already, but you can use the water duplication trick to make more, and then you can shimmer more buckets to get more lava and skip the lava slimes! And I’ll warn you in advance, the sitting duck’s pole is sold by the traveling merchant post-Skeletron now, so don’t go trying to wait for him. Loving this series so far! 🍪

By getting the water (or any liquid really) you can get infinite liquid by duplicating it with the weird bucket glitch, so now you don't have to spend ten minutes stabbing Lava Slimes anymore

Remember to place liquid blocks within range of crafting table with a bottle on it for potions and mud crafting. Jungle bio can randomly grow jungle trees. It's always interesting to see if a jungle tree grows before you get wood from travelling merchants or not. 😊👍

8:00 this setup is making me think... can't... can't he just die a bunch, make a graveyear biome that will ahve increased constant enemy spawns even during the day.... and also you get a chance for Abigail flower? EDIT: realized you need grass for the flower to spawn.... still. more enemy spawns from a graveyard biome sounds ideal for a volcano farm

Hey Happy. I watched your old modded skyblock back when it came out. Logan made this map loosely based off my Shimmering Skies map (similar progression but using secret seeds instead of mediumcore to progress). I've also been impressed with your progress despite you going into this blind, and look forward to seeing you finish it. I've made a few skyblock maps, but most recently I made a skyblock mod (and mod pack) with very tricky and convoluted progression, but also some quality of life features to reduce the grindy bits. I've been trying to convince someone to make videos on it. If you still feel the itch to solve some puzzles after you finish this, please find me. Either way, it's good to see more people active in the skyblock community. There're too few of us.

You get a temporary luck boost by throwing coins into the shimmer (the bigger the sacrifice, the bigger the buff). Good way to boost a slime staff chance

I'm gonna be the biggest nerd ever for this comment but There might be a way to speed up the killing process for enemies that you can't kill from below and you have to kill them from the side like the lava slimes. If you make a simple hoik with some hammered down platforms (Like the one to enter the Jungle temple early) only on ONE side of the wall you can attack through it from that side while the enemies are trapped on the other. I'm not sure how well it would work with the copper shortsword for I haven't tested it yet but with weapon that has bigger hitboxes or that shot long range projectile It will prove incredibly handy! I'm loving this series so far and I'm so sad I watched it all just today cause I think this advise might lose relevance very soon, if it hasn't already...

If you can do the water duplicate glitch you can make a large enough pool of water to start fishing. Fishing would get you alot of stuff. Not sure how you'd get the fishing merchant. Maybe bridge to where the beach would be then leave and come back?

I HIGHLY reccommend crafting the Grave digger shovel to farm dirt way more quicly. And it will not mine the center stone block since the shovel only breaks soft blocks.

You can buy torches from the merchant and shimmer them for wood and gel I think. Could be wrong but it would make sense because they craft torches

You can Shimmer the Anvils from the Merchant to get Iron bars that you can make into Iron tools. Not much of an upgrade, but an upgrade nonetheless. 👍

I decided to start a shimmer block of my own and I ended up getting 3 slime staff with is all of the slime staff I have ever gotten normally.
