The ignorant are the ones who are filled with hate and go around mocking other's beliefs in a very cheap way on an international platform. Unfortunately, that is what France demonstrated in the Olympics. I canceled my vacation to Paris. Greece welcomes you anytime for vacation. Santorini is beautiful and they will not try to make fun of your idols and heritage. Russia and China are beautiful destinations as well. With rich culture and thousands of years of civilization. Although China is an atheist nation, but Chinese people care about the feelings of others, and they will not make you feel unwelcome.

Contrary to what most KZbinrs say about France, everything you said is absolutely accurate! Well done and thank you for my country.

@@donboldon3104 France is a secular and enlightened country which explains our disinterest in medieval and especially religious beliefs. I say disinterest, indeed making fun of you is stupid, it is better to complain.
@donboldon31045 ай бұрын
@@christianc9894 So you only tolerate people who are like minded like you. Sounds like bigotry. Thanks for proving my point. France is not enlightened. France is living on stealing the mines of Africa and artifacts stolen from around the globe. The art pieces from cultures and civilizations that you hate. What are is France creating now? Trash prostitution with prostitutes makeup, and mocking the greatest philosopher of all time.

@@christianc9894 The show was not for France, the public Olympic international platform is for the world. There are two scenes that were performed. The first scene is the Last Supper, and the second scene is the Greek Methodology. Hence the organizers called the segment "The Last Supper on a Stage on the Seine". Both scenes that were performed mock the respective cultures/religions Christianity, and Ancient Greece. The ancient Greek appreciated beauty, not this cheap heavy makeup porn underwear show. France showed its ugly face filled with hatred and bigotry towards the world. They should learn how to respect others from China. This painting some individuals trying to contain the situation on behalf of the french government referred to the painting from the 1600s (The Symposium of the Gods by Jan Harmensz van Biljert was painted in 1635), This painting was modeled after Da Vinci's Last Supper which was painted between 1495 and 1498. The painting replaced Jesus and the disciples with ancient Greek gods and changed the movements of the objects in the scene. The painting was beautiful, not a mockery. The show was a mockery of both Greek and Christian religions. Shame on France!

Wow this is really useful information!! Merci!! Btw, as a foreigner who isn't expected to have a French phone account, how do you make restaurant reservations?
@jfrancobelge2 ай бұрын
You can use your foreign phone but of course you'll have to pay the roaming fee for using it abroad - unless you come from another EU country, where there's free roaming; then calls within France and to your home country will be considered domestic. Another solution is to buy a pre-paid French SIM card upon arrival.

5:43 this is the medieval fortress of Angers, the town where I was born and grew up. Yes, France is indeed much more than just Paris and the Riviera. Paris, like every other touristic hot spot worldwide, is heaven for pickpockets and scammers, that's life. In Paris especially the scams include a number of restaurants that shamelessly serve pre-prepared industrial dishes as home-made traditional food. I suggest you read on line comments by the local French customers - and avoid the "eateries" around touristic sites. And yes, saying "bonjour" before any social interaction is essential, whether it's asking for direction, addressing store or office clerks or entering the doctor's waiting room... Other essential words to know are "au revoir", "s'il-vous-plait", and "merci". If you forget these polite words, as superficial as it might seem with strangers, people will think you're rude - and might act accordingly in return. Strikes: even French people are often fed up with them, but you have to live with them. EG I now live in a tri-border area, close to two other countries; when flying I prefer using airports in neighboring Germany or Luxembourg.

Is it okay for one person out of a group to greet people when entering an establishment or does everyone need to? I’m extremely uncomfortable talking to people. I hardly speak at family reunions and I’m even more uncomfortable around strangers.
