Chevrolet Chevy Cruze Rear Bumper Cover Removal And Installation (2012 - 2014)

How to remove the rear bumper cover on the Chevrolet Cruze. This should work on 2012 - 2014 models.
Watch out for those plastic tabs - they are paper thin and break easily.

Great video. My only issue was for some reason my 2014 cruze had T20 screws, not T25, in the wheel well. Didn't bring the T20 bit with me to do it, so thankfully I started there n ended up waiting till I had the right one

First thanks for the how to Just replaced the bumper on my cruze watching this gave me a good idea of what to do but with a few changes as its a hatchback model so a little different The changes are the lights are held in by 3 screws and a couple of push fits so you don't have to unplug them once out they can hang into the rear The only other change is the number late lighting this can be found behind the bumper a large block connecter just remove the locking pin and pull apart the rest of the lighting can be removed once the bumper is off

Is the filler just the aluminum bar seen when the cover is off? No foam or eggcrate material in there? I got rearended lightly and it appears to be just cosmetic, thinking about pulling the rear cover off like this and painting myself. If the inner bumper is really just aluminum like that, I can inspect it once the cover is off and not worry about ordering new foam parts. Thanks!

+Preston Peters insurance covered it, so at "full pricing" I think it was $1100. That included the bumper, paint, labor etc.

@mookie9499, if no one else has answered you, I believe you are referring to the actual "bumper". What is being replaced is considered the bumper cover.

If the hooks/cover were ripped off if the bumper, is it safe to assume that the entire cover will need to be replaced? Essentially I am asking if those pieces(on the bumper cover) are able to be replaced allowing your damaged cover to be reinstalled? Sorry if this has been asked!

If it came down to having to replace the bumper all because of those clips breaking. What i would do is buy a plastic welder kit and melt plastic on to it and then use a dremel to drill little rectangular holes. Im someone who has the patience for that. But i definitely would not spend the money on buying a whole new bumper because of clips.. Hell no! Heres the link for a plastic welder, which is cheap comparing the price to a bumper. You can get a cheap dremel also. Hi, did you screw the T25 back at the inner fender? Cos i have my rear bumper fell off yesterday on a hi-way luckily we are all safe. And i think i can fix it by myself but im not sure if its still safe to use if one of the plastic stab was broken.

Ben Gonz those there to vent the car. When you close the door it creates a high pressure zone. Car manufactures take advantage of these vents to slowly let the air out to give off the illusion the doors are heavy vaults when they close. If you ever have an air freshener in the car and the hvac fan on full blast and smell the air freshener outside the car it's because of those vents. In short they are vents for the car when you close doors and vent the air in general.

Man if someone used those tools on my car removing plastic parts or clips that wasnt meant to be used for that I'd be pissed. That's what they make specialty tools that are also non marring and have a hook type end to pop up the retainer heads. Use the correct tools please.
