I've had mine for about six months and it's quite nice. It's so much better to be able to roll all of my most used tools to where I'm working instead of walking over to the big box everytime I need something. They're part of the Black Friday sale for $529 or so.

ProTip: Harbor freight sells a matching swivel caster for most of their boxes/carts. For a few extra bucks, it an upgrade that I always recommend.

I have one of these and a craftsman box and I gotta say the hf us general one is my favorite. I thought about getting a couple cans of truck bed liner rattle cans and doing some drawer liner and a coat on the outside to protect them a little better.

Literally the only reason I haven’t bought one and I’m searching for a used snap on instead. Those sliding tops are massively useful especially considering the snap on ones have 120lb slides on them. This cart is still a fantastic bargain but I feel like I’d regret not getting a cart with the slide top.

I just went to HF website and it lists the casters as being 2 swivel and 2 fixed, all locking. That is typical for tool storage but having four swivel casters makes life so much simpler at times.

Would be nice if HF would use some of these ideas like the full extension drawers and drawer wide latch grabs and make a Series 3 line in the US General boxes. Maybe even slightly better slides or something. Would definitely fix some of the flaws.

I know your comment is a year old, but have you seen the videos from this years SEMA show. The Series 3 boxes are a major step up. And they're going to have them in white and gray. My local HF manager said they expect them around April.

I have red the comments about wanting a "slide top" but I worked with a slide top in the past and I hated it. My 5 drawer flip up top holds note, pictures and stickers. If they had a choice between the two different tops I would still go with the flip up top... The cart is just to hold tools that you make money with, I retired at 57 because I did not spend thousands of $$ and give the tool truck guy money to send his kids to college and me not be able to retire. It sure is great to do what I want when I want and not have to "grind" anymore. HFT has certainly upped their game and once they drop the price to something more reasonable, I will get one. My Gen. 1 five drawer cart I got at a yard sale for $100 and I do not cry if it gets a scratch or bumped.

And for $700 all at once for this all the way from what the old model was priced at... $240 or whatever, a $2,400 snap on roll top cart on payments, that will help my credit in my circumstance doesn't sound to shabby. Bc whats $15 a week and sometimes pay $30 to knock it out faster. Hell i just quit smokin a pack a day for 12 years.. 2400 is less than it cost to buy cigarettes like i was lol. Fair trad3

This looks like a decent cart but I still think the Menards Masterforce is a little better value, I picked up the 36” rolling chest for $539 “before the rebate”, the drawers are 24” deep as opposed to most that are about 18” or so giving a lot more drawer space. And I think the construction and sturdiness of the Masterforce box is a little better than others of similar price. As a bonus they come with pre cut drawer liners! I’ve only had my box for a little bit but im loving it. If you haven’t checked out the Masterforce boxes I highly recommend you do!

I thought about getting one of these but when I went to harbor freight to check one out, I was just like my snap on tool cart. Even down to the plastic retainers that lock the drawers in place. The plastic retainers that you press to open the drawers always broke on my snap on box. Even though it has a lifetime warranty, I’m tired of replacing them. I just bought a Mac maxsimizer tool cart instead which I love

Talked to a gearwrench rep at Home Depot yesterday with the whole semi truck set up and HD will now be stocking a small selection of gearwrench. Tools and carrying a larger selection online. He also said they are pushing to hopefully get Gearwrench tool boxes in store. I can’t remember if he said by the end of the year or within the year but they are pushing to get them in store. That’s exciting news for me cause like gearwrench stuff.

Tip, use your index finger to buffer the tape end when you snap it back into its rest position. Failure to do so will dramatically shorten the life of the tape measure. Damn nice tool box for the price especially when compared to SnapOn.

Upgrade to this is pneumatic tires on caster swivels. Makes the cart roller great on gravel if you're in heavy equipment or heavy duty diesel shops

After denting the lid of my box after it fell while trying to put the casters on my HF flip top roll cart. My advice is tilt the box onto a truck tailgate and install casters then tilt down

Don't get caught up in the hype, the Snap On has more welds, better gussets and bracing, it is designed better, all HOBO Freight did was copy the look like they do with all their tools, they cheap out on the build, that is how they get the price so low, that and the fact they pay slave wages to build them in China. Your Snap On box was built in America employing American workers supporting America.

Thanks for the review. Looks nice a nice cart. One comment, when assembling with bolts and screws, start the bolts or screws by hand before using an impact driver to minimize cross-threading.

Man I’m not taking the bolts out ever again that’s why I did that. i could careless if they cross thread ever. That’s hillbilly locktite. If it’s something I will have to remove yeah. Also that was a 1/4” brushed snap on impact 30 ft lbs max it would have cross threaded those bolts anyways it would have hammered before it done that. I know my tools bro

The trucks have a place. Some guys just don't have the $700, but will pay weekly for the name brand cart plus they usually get most of their money back when they trade up.... Plus you always will have the "snap on/Matco/Mac is the best" crowd who won't consider anything else
