This 3500 winch is a beast. Pulled a Dodge Dakota onto a tilt 18 foot bed and had no problems. Probably a 15-20 degree tilt. What really impressed me is that my step son loaded a Toyota Prius with a blown engine onto trailer the next day. The wheels were locked up and it literally drug the car onto the trailer with no problem.. Considering what the 3500 does, I can’t imagine what the 12000 will move. Got the winch on sale from harbor freight and paid around a hundred buck. Well worth the money. Harbor freight has some great tools for the money, but they also have some absolute crap. Read the reviews. They are honest and post the good bad and ugly. GREAT WINCH.

Here is a trick to slow down the loading speed with the winch mount a shackle to either side of the winch then add a snatch block that you hook to whatever you are dragging into the trailer... This will slow the drag speed by 1/2, giving more time and control to whatever you want to pull with the winch it also can be used to reduce the power draw of the winch as well as nearly doubling it's pull strength.

This is legit for sure. I was just in a rush to get the car picked up that night.

I got one of these. Mainly just for raising and lowering the plow on my 88 fourtrax. Just going to strap it to the front rack for now and mount it proper this summer.

I just bought this winch from HF so I could mount it in my garage to pull projects (or dead cars) into the garage once they're in my driveway. My driveway is a bit of an incline and I need a couple guys to help push a car in, its a pita. So I'm mounting it with anchors and will likely just use a JumpPack like the one listed here (need a new one anyways, mine has been dead for a while) whenever I need to use the winch. I havent gone through the install instructions yet, but did you ever do a tutorial on the wiring? Is there a way to set up a remote control for this so I can be in the car in case I need to use the brakes or something if something breaks or fails? At least a safe/clean way to extend the remote wiring so it'll go a good 30+ft so you can be in the car with it? Good video, so glad i saw this, i saw people using the 2500 version but they dont realize the weight rating is at a 8ft'ish distance, and the the weight it can effectively handle as you go out in length drastically drops... so at some point you'll stress the motor (HF only has a 90 warranty but you can extend it for a few years for like $35). So I opted for the 3500 thinking it should be more than efficient from a 20-30ft range to get a car up a small bump and into the garage (where I can use wheel dollies to maneuver it around at that point if i need to).

XR4Ti at 8:32! Hope you do something with it. I sold mine when I got my E46. Wishing I'd kept it as a track day car.

I a needing to extend my remote since I have to be at the bottom of my ramp to guide PA subs and Amp racks. Is there a wireless hack or has someone extended the wire and have tricks? Thanks.

I just bought the same winch for a car trailer but it has a plug that hooks to ignition for a four wheeler what do I do with that plug? I’m not hooking it up just a battery for the winch itself so do I cut plug off and add a terminal and hook to battery? And the small white wire that hooks to solenoid it says in directions goes to the middle screw but the little terminals bigger than the screw any help be appreciated
