When a beamer comes into the shop the "not it" happens everytime.....And not a bad little hack there. Its good to show people you dont have to put off vital servicing of your car because you dont have this or that.

Definitely not trying to talk down on these products. Good designs and can’t complain about the price. But they only place they fall short is the gaskets. Like you mentioned, the valve cover and others like the fuel pressure regulator. I always just get new gaskets. Not a huge deal. I find AC/freon gaskets work really well.

I know it's a race car, but instead of running wires from your regular taillight, tap into the harness directly from the 3rd light plug, rerouting it up through the pillar/hatch & securing it above so if needed, you're not disconnecting it every time you need to jump in the engine bay? A bit late for stripping extra weight, but the stock muffler is quite heavy between 35-40lbs, I noticed it in my 986 when I dropped it & made a custom stainless exhaust. Compare 5lbs to 40lbs, it's a similar system as the tarret race exhaust, just add a couple reversed in-line resonators to smooth out the raspiness.
@TenzaMotorsports5 күн бұрын
That’s what we did. We ran wires from the third brake light. We showed how to do it both ways just in case they don’t have the third brake light wiring. And yes the exhaust is something that will be done differently soon!

Thanks for the very concise video and showing how relatively easy this task is. I have a 97 Ram 2500 diesel extended cab and will be replacing the original driver and passenger door windows soon myself, so I personally appreciate your video. One thing I'm going to do while replacing the door glass is also replacing what the factory service manual calls "inner door belt weatherstrip" and "outer door belt weatherstrip" because, like you found, these - especially the outer weatherstrips - have collected enough dirt and abrasive crap over the truck's almost 30-year life that they have scratched the glass so much and so badly they are hard to see through, especially with sunlight shining on them. I found this complete set (inner & outer weatherstrips) at Geno's Garage (just search for this name) and priced under $60 for the complete set and they're made from the same specs and materials as factory original parts. I don't know if KZbin will let me post the real link or not, so if anyone is interested in this product, just navigate through these website links "Home > Body > Door Seals and Weather Stripping > INNER AND OUTER BELTLINE SEAL KIT - DRIVER & PASS. ('94-'02)". Like LMC Truck, Geno's is a GREAT place to find a LOT of things for Ram trucks (gas & diesel). I'm not affilliated with Geno's Garage in any way at all - just a long term, satisfied customer.

You don’t have to tune it immediately. It just throws a check engine light every few weeks. It doesn’t change how the car runs. I ran almost a year with mine not tuned. I think it threw the code like every 3-5 weeks

It’s a very complete car but since it’s a parts only title I can’t register it. I’m really considering doing something like this. I’ve always wanted a wagon with a s54. I’m sure I’ll have a fair amount of questions in the future, you’ve earned my sub, keep up the good work!

Question! Do you need to have more oil, due to (I’m guessing) the oil cooler keeping oil inside? Also don’t you need some kind of a pump to get the oil flowing in the cooler? Does that make sense? 😁
@TenzaMotorsports21 күн бұрын
Yes. I’m glad you asked. I had actually recorded a bit talking about that, but I butchered it so bad I couldn’t save it in editing. Your car will take around a quart more. But the oil changes will be the same since that extra quart is sitting in the lines and the oil cooler.
