Why are you drilling that center hole and taking the entire assembly apart 😂 could just take the plastic lens off ( held by two small screws ) and fit the bulb from there - like "backwards" , did the same LED bulbs on my e46 - nothing was drilled 😁

Is there a thermostat in the adapter? If not how would be a good way to have a thermostat routed in this setup. We have moderately cold winters and hot summers therefore i absolutely need a thermostat.
@TenzaMotorsports2 күн бұрын
There is no thermostat. I’m sure there is a way to add one in. I don't know if I recommend this on a daily driver. my two cars are only driven when it’s warm outside.

You'd have to be pretty hardcore to want to drive that 'stage 1' stripper on the street. In the real world, I would definitely consider 1) an aftermarket muffler 2) GRP race seats 3) Odyssey battery 4) titanium wheel bolts plus the lightest rims you can afford 5)change the steering wheel, if you can live without the airbag. 6) leave the (13 kg) spare wheel and jack kit in the garage - if you're certain you're not going to get a flat. And oh yes - make sure it's got a stickshift, K & N filter, and a bigger throttle body.

We are very hard core here, if you've seen some of the other builds we have done, we are up for a stripped out racecar. I really appreciate the insight of your comment, we are doing lots of things you mentioned. Very excited about the future of this build!

How did you get the wire though the front door?
@TenzaMotorsports2 күн бұрын
Ohhh my FAVORITE part.. if I remember right we took a thin, but strong, string and wrapped it on the head of a Narrow flat blade screw driver and pushed through the passage. Then I tied the string to the wires and pulled them through. it wasn't fun and took a lot of time and patience.

@TenzaMotorsports2 күн бұрын
No. There are pros and cons to both though. When it’s in the car, it’s nice because it won’t move around as you try and stitch it up. When it’s out of the car you have more access to see what you're doing but hard to hold.

Inside the DME there was a "Read data stream" option. That sounds like live data. See if there is an option to display camshaft deviation values. If so, a camshaft deviation of greater than 6 degrees is out of spec and could be the cause of the misfires. Having the code for bank 1 and bank 2 makes me think the engine may have skipped a tooth on the timing. The crank to IMS chain skipping would affect both banks since both chains are driven from the IMS. Also the "Data links" section had a camshaft adjustment for bank 1 and bank 2. If you actuate those with the car running and the idle changes, you can rule out an error with the variocam actuator solenoid.
@TenzaMotorsports6 күн бұрын
Thanks for the information. Great comment. I kind of figured some of those functional tests need to be done while running. I can never tell. Some scanners get mad when the car is running some don’t care, or need it running. I wasn’t able to start the car while doing the video. But I will be doing more diagnostics with the scanner. Hopefully we can figure it out.
@coleah695 күн бұрын
They are running tests. It doesn't matter which scanner it is they are running tests. Those scanners actuator all those tests perfectly fine for me. Dropping a cylinders fuel injector doesn't work when it's not running. Messing with the variable timing doesn't work when it's not running. Because it's NOT RUNNING

@TenzaMotorsports meaning intercooler, oil pump, oil cooler etc?
@stude2928 күн бұрын
Yeah, gotta say. Not sure this test clearly rates oil, as in this application the thermal pathway provided by the oil - from all sliding surfaces- was eliminated, causing surface temps to be affected by multiple factors. Without oil, combustion heat will not be passed to the oil, to the crankcase/cylinder fins and to the environment. The top ring could then butt, and overload rod bearings, scuff cylinder walls, even seize. In other words, it is not just the oil's lubrication parameters at work- unacceptable changes in all clearances likely occured, not just due to inadequate lubrication, but to lack of adequate heat removal- not the fault of the oil, but lack of coolant. I appreciate the effort, but I dispute the method.

Mind you I have a Subaru Sti with all the sporty bits and upgraded clutch and I drive that car flawlessly. One day I've decided to see, how it feels with the armrest in upwards position and OMG, that was the problem, now I don't drive my car like a novice. Arm rest is great, but it's for automatics only IMO

Just got the Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile jack for 79.99 during the 12 days of Christmas sale. What a deal couldn’t pass it up.
@m-rezaabazar-ghafari875718 күн бұрын
The reason Husky and Pittsburgh can lift higher is that they have slightly longer lift arm with the same frame size than this Daytona you are reviewing. Look at the empty space in between front wheel axle and first pivot axle on lift arm in front of Saddle. These medium low profile floor jacks have got many names and Brands both in north America and Europe. Shinnfu of America is behind the production, custom brands for a lot of retailers cross the Globe.

So on the lower bar of this, we shouldn’t do this until we have done the plates first, correct? Because it looked like where you drilled up was in the position of where the plates are welded in. Or am I wrong on that?
@TenzaMotorsports20 күн бұрын
It doesn’t matter what order you do them. Obviously I would recommend doing your weld in reinforcement plates first.
