Mr Maximus is the only guy on KZbin that can spend 10 minutes talking about 1/4" bit accessories and keep your attention. Good job sir.

He should use his talent with reviewing German tools. He could do a guest spot on KC Tool. The HF stuff is over saturated on KZbin.

I bought the blue one a year ago after watching this video. It still performs and looks like new and gets used hard every day. Thanks, Catus!

I have a Dewalt one that came in a lot and it has been good so far. No issues at all and it's my main holder for my Dewalt impact driver. 7 or 8 bucks seems a little steep but if they honor the typical lifetime warranty deal it isn't so bad. Buy it once and you're good forever.

The dewalt tip is a impact rated bit that's why it works. The other one is just a cheap bit for using in a drill driver. Also 1" screw tips are ment to be used in tip holder not for using directly into impact driver.
@CatusMaximus4 жыл бұрын
Dewalt impact drivers allow you to directly insert a 1-inch bit straight into the Chuck and use it (they advertise that capability) and both of those bits that I demonstrated in the video are Dewalt impact rated bits, one was a flextorq and one was a non Flex tough torque.

Great info, I had no idea there was a way to lock these short bits. I've used cheap magnetic bit holders but have trouble with the bits falling out.

My DeWalt also has an aluminum collar. They wear out very fast and there is no "breaking in". Some stick and that is indeed a lot of the brands. The majority of the ones I have just don't seem to be made that well. I would like to see one with a steel collar. Take care. Doug

Good video. I have made my living primarily by screwing for decades and have tried literally every gizmo and gadget I've found along the way. Some are better (much better) than others but I have yet to find one that was anywhere close to being perfect or, even what I would call good. This has been a major issue for me. I can't understand why after all these years, with all those high dollar genius design engineers these companies have on the payroll, why someone some where hasn't been able to come up with something that works well, consistently by now. Even if it were a proprietary system of some sort that only worked with a particular brand of driver. Thanks for the video!

I’ve beat the hell out of my Hercules blue bit holder with a dewalt 110ft lb impact and never had a jam. I think that bauer holder damaged the bit and then it made it jam in the other. Also might be that bit itself was a bit softer metal

I own a bunch of these but the two you have are more similar to one another than any of my stingers... almost like they are made in the same building

I've had nothing but trouble with that locking mech on a couple other brands (incl. Bosch). I rely on the magnet alone mostly.

My second 12 volt tool DCF801F2 The Tool has a Ball Bearing holder, this works great on 2' Hex 1/4" bits, Lowes said that list tool will work on 1" bits, This will not work with Dewalt 1" bits, the cut rings are .33" at the long, 2" bits are about .28" and work great. I have found the Wiha 1+ 29mm bits work fine and some Milwaukee 1" bits, Bosch 1" bits will not hold.

Please somebody help. I get the magnet retained, which are mostly worthless, and I get the mechanically retained. But why both? Seems that the magnet will still get fouled with swarf, or break
@docdavidb4 жыл бұрын
Ok. CM answered this in the vid. The combo of magnet and mechanical allows for one handed bit change while also retaining the bit so it doesn’t fall out during the change. Nice.

For $7 and $8 a piece these are useless ! The magnet has almost zero holding power which is the whole purpose of having a magnetic bit holder . Makita makes one that you can buy from amazon for a about $3.25 a piece and You can attach a 3 inch screw to it and turn it on full power and the screw will not fall off ! It is the strongest magnet out there . I put the bit into a box of 3 inch screws and the magnet picked up 4 screws .
@barrykery11754 жыл бұрын
No way is he Bauer bit holder any good. JUNK ! I did like the Hercules bit holder. I don't only want a magnetic bit holder, I want it to also hold on to the screw. If all it does is hold the bit, it's worthless. The holder clamps on to the bit so the magnetic is not needed in that case. If it holds on to the screw so I don't have to handle the screw, other than to place the screw on the bit, then we have a useful tool. Barry
@barrykery11754 жыл бұрын
I changed my mind. Both junk if they lock up. Moving on......I'll look at the Dewalt or Makita.

Those style bits suck . Unless you are a rookie or don't do much drilling with 3" screws . It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
