Harbor Freight Folding Trailer factory trailer lights installed. How to install the factory wiring kit for trailer lights on a harbor freight folding trailer. In this video, I install the trailer lights that came with my Harbor freight folding trailer and upgrade to a seven pin wiring harness for this trailer. I also upgraded this trailer to have rocks! I used the Nilight Rock lights for this mod. I show you step-by-step how to install trailer lights and how to install rock lights in this video.

Glad I watched this, I personally don't want color changing rock lights under the trailer. But I do want to build a box on the trailer to hold fishing gear and have lights inside that box. Then build two kayak frames on top of the box. These videos walking through this trailer are top notch!

I honestly just like to have the white light under the trailer. The fact that they change colors was incidental lol. Thanks for checking out the videos. I have a few more to make with this trailer, i.e. flooring system, handrail, 13 inch wheel upgrade & spare tire mount on the tongue.

@@MrFredsDIY I've subbed! Can't wait to see future mods! You'll probably be done by the time I get around to buying the trailer (I'm just now pinpointing exactly what kayak I want to purchase lol). It's also very helpful you link all the products you use. Now that I think of it, some rock lights underneath may not be a bad idea while camping/fishing at night. So I may end up needing 2-3 switches on that 7-pin box.

Hello there is an easier way to line up the wires on the clearance light on your trailer. It’s crazy that they expect you to have the clearance light flat against the trailer frame when two wires are in the way! To correct that foolishness I just disassembled the light set that frame of the light against the trailer frame where it mounts on the frame. I marked the backside of the light frame and drilled a hole in the clearance light frame and I ran the wires through that hole and it sits perfect against the frame. I reassembled the clearance light with the two screws. It would have saved you a ton of time chiseling the hole out with a knife. Just about finished wiring mine I’m trying to figure how much slack is needed where the tongue and trailer bed folds. Weather was bad so I’m building it in my living room🤣 Oh I also ran my wires in 3/8” split loom and secured the wires to the frame with 3M Zip Tie Mounts and zip ties. The 3/8” split loom fits perfect in the frame holes all the way down the trailer. It’ll protect the wires. Enjoyed the video very helpful.

Why 2 separate ground wires?

Because the trailer “folds on hinges” using the frame as the ground was challenging. The frame is pained very well, including the bolt holes. Running a ground wire to every lamp just made sense.
