I always thought the 119 is a little small for what we consider a Bowie. But technically it is a Bowie. Like the Gordon so much I bought 2

If you like China that much keep supporting it. Heaven forbid if you paid $30 more for something made in the United States. And it lasts you a really long time. And now you bought two of them when you could have had one good one for 30% less. Brilliant stuff.

I’m going to get the Gordon just because. I have the 110,119, 120 and 124 all with leather sheath. I have to say I’m not hating the nylon sheath. Love my bucks but if I was going to just beat and mistreat a knife the Gordon gets the call up. Nice vid!

Lol I truly am surprised at how good it actually was, if it was under $20 it would be a great option thats hard to beat. It is no buck of course but the 119 is $70 at Walmart now, im not sure if thats with the leather sheath or the nylon but id guess leather lol.

I just ordered one of those Gordon knives just because I wanted it. Sometimes pairing a non “tactical” knife with a good carry gun is the way to go. Stands out less.

Your welcome lol I try to cover other angles than other creators do that people want to know, but of course something for me may not be for you so its all opinion based we just have to do the best we can. I stand by that knife as a good budget or low cost option, as long as its used for regular knife stuff it shouldn't be a problem. Anything can break if you try hard enough.....well except for one thing 🤣 people say they should make tires out of it 🤣 ill let you fill in the blank....thanks for watching and stay safe in this crazy world!

If you were to baton it and break it.... HF will most likely take it back and replace it. I've broken several HF tools and they exchanged them no questions asked over the years. I'll be grabbing a couple next time a 20% coupon comes out to throw in my truck, go bag and camping kit. Would I take it as a primary knife on Alone? Heck no, but then again I wouldn't take the Buck 119 either so there's that... For what it is, great value for the money...

@slchang012 жыл бұрын
Both of the steels are of the low end knife steel, being softer than 440C and D2. But they both excel in toughness at the expense of edge holding capability. But they are easier to sharpen with a wet stone. So as long as you know the pros and cons of one particular knife, and take precaution for them, then you will be able to use them to its maximum potential in the field...

Does the Buck 119 have the BOX heat treatment?. That would garden and strengthen the blade over normal 420 steel.which would meal the blade would hold its sharpness longer and make it more resistant to nicks and rings on the cutting edge.
@alphaomegasurvivalsupply65484 ай бұрын
As far as im aware BOS pretty well designed bucks entire heat treatment process for all their knives, so I would assume that it technically does but I don't remember it having the new logo for it...(which is only for marketing because of what I previously stated lol). You are right the buck should have a better heat treat which is part of why you pay more, I was really surprised at how well the Gordon actually did perform considering its origins lol. I have a few new ones ready for review videos that are going to be nice, once the weather cooperates I'll put up some new stuff! Thanks for watching!
@StonrMoose694 ай бұрын
The Gordon will sharpen easier but the buck will keep its edge longer I personally like a knife that is easier to sharpen because if you ever don't have the ability to sharpen it on hand a harder steel makes it damn near impossible to get a good edge back on it but you have some wiggle room with a softer steel that and the price point is what made me choose the gorden Buck is out of their mind wanting $89 for a 420 steel knife
@alphaomegasurvivalsupply65484 ай бұрын
I can't disagree with that and it honestly did surprise me lol

Harbor Freight - only the finest in cheap knockoffs. No doubt made in China- hopefully not by slave labor but probably the next thing to that. Survivorman took a buck knife with him on one of his expeditions and it performed well. It's meant for hard use.
@alphaomegasurvivalsupply65484 ай бұрын
No doubt but I would disagree with the part that buck is made for hard use...the 119 is absolutely NOT made for hard use, its a hunting knife, but the 124 could stand up to more abuse. However for a slave made cheap knife it did surprise me and would probably surprise you too, unless your goal was to break it cuz I promise I could break any knife if I tried hard enough.
@Jaden481084 ай бұрын
The hardest use in most people's experience is wood processing and skinning, dismembering, getting through bone. This is where a knife with a saw comes in handy. The Case Trapper can do it all and certain SAKs. The closest thing I have to a buck is the Marine fighting knife that uses hardened/tempered steel. But if someone gave me a Buck I wouldn't turn it down. It'll do the job. @@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548
