Awesome review my friend. You are the only one that gave this kind of review I been waiting for. Everyone seems to do video reviews on how pretty this torque wrench is and trying to compare it to Snap On. I was wanting to buy this, but thanks to your review you just saved me my time and money. And the safe and peace of mind of proper torque. Thank you again sir. 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸

ATG & I say many people buying tools DON'T always test their tools. When was the last time you test your DMM/DVM or wheel's balancing weight? Like zero. Even many reviewers & shops DO NOT use torque wrenches. The Other Guy, your tests was nicely done, sir. FIY: Every go to 30 minutes oil changes /or get your car inspection? Guess what, many are making less than $38/hr. Do you really think they care? They just use that impact wrench @ max power. Then when you have a flat tire you can't take out one lug nut because it's free spinning. Or that striped Oil Drain Plug & splash shield gone.

First off thank you for the review! Secondly am I the only one seeing the table and vise move?
@theotherguy30832 жыл бұрын
Table and vise did move. I tried my best to stabilize it
@jungmen2 жыл бұрын
That still should not change the torque (at least not by 10 ft-lb). Your vehicle is likely going to move as well depending on what your tightening . If anything you'd think the movement would/may cause a bit of over-torque on rebound/flex., and or possibly under-torque as you suggest. Yet I would not think (based on this video) that it should cause it to be off 10 lbs, unless one is being erratic with it...lol!

Torque is being applied to table and vice. Meter is not calibrated? NO ONE including myself got this result. ICON has never let me down and honestly... i'm more of a Tekton fan.

How do you know that your Craftsman calibration meter is accurate ?
@theotherguy3083 Жыл бұрын
Because I measured it against other units and it is accurate.

What other units?
@cyprezz2 ай бұрын
@@jordanbeyer7607 9:48 He started using a unnamed digital torque wrench to show how it and the Craftsman measure up. The question is what is the brand of this digital torque wrench and did he calibrated that digital torque wrench to closely match the Craftsman measurement? Another problem is that both could be wrong and the ICON could be right. There's no way of knowing for sure unless it's taken to a certified place to measure these things.

No trying to sound rude, How do you know your craftsman measuring device is accurate. The torque wrench seems consistent. Just a thought. I don't know what that device is.
@theotherguy30832 жыл бұрын
I know because both craftsman are consistent with each other including my other Torque wrench. This one doesn't click at the settings like the others.

Uhhh… you guys being sarcastic? That’s mean if so, he may not be some aviation calibrating shop but I think he’s close enough for putting lug nuts on a wheel.
@frankthespank2 жыл бұрын
I don’t get why people like these split-beam torque wrenches more than digital torque wrenches, I hear some people say “it’s easy to read and adjust and you don’t have to reset it” etc. but a digital torque wrench does all that AND a lot more, so I don’t understand it… oh well. Glad we have so many choices and we can use what we want 😎
@theotherguy30832 жыл бұрын
The reason why I like the non battery operated ones is that they don't run out of batter power when you need them. For that, when I am out in the trails, I carry only the non battery operated ones.

A lot of my other tools are icon, wrenches, ratchets, sockets, but I have also had a bad experience with the torque wrenches. I also found that they are not very accurate, so I refuse to use them now. All the other icon tools have taken a beating and held up well, but their torque wrenches I can’t recommend. Hopefully harbor freight realizes the issue with their torque wrenches and figures it out soon.

It was a great disappointment to find this tool so inaccurate out of the box. However, I got it adjusted and it is accurate now.

All your higher-torque tests are FAULTY. The vise and bench are BOTH twisting horizontally AND vertically so much we can see it. NOTE: with your ‘test setup’ I would expect greater errors at higher torque inputs.
