Recently purchased a Quinn Electronic Torque Wrench from Harbor Freight and wanted to check out how it compares to the Pittsburgh Professional click-type torque wrenches. Also, wanted to give the 1/2" Milwaukee Stubby Impact Wrench another chance of redemption after it failed to remove the differently mounting bolts in the previous video.
Quinn Electronic Torque Wrench: #64916
Pittsburgh Profession Click-Type Torque Wrench: #63882
Milwaukee 1/2" Stubby Impart Wrench: #2555-20

Was just looking for reviews on the wrench and thought this was well put together so I decided to see what else you had with only 131 subscribers. Looks like a lot of the same type of stuff I like to do so I'll go ahead and make 132. Always enjoy seeing other view points and ways of doing things!

Great video..... exactly what I was looking for. If you're running 2 mics for sound, look at the "3 to 1 rule" so as to reduce phasing effect

Nice video. I'm looking for a torque wrench (upgrade from my clicker type) and ran across the HF wrench. So now watching reviews before I decide to go the HF route. This was an excellent review and looks like a great value and quality tool. HF has been stepping up quality over the last few years.

I agree. This seems to have the quality that a diy'r such as myself should come to expect. Of course, time will tell if it holds up to the abuse I put it through. Thanks for watching the video! Cheers.

I like that you did not just pull to a full 90 deg. all at once. I work on cars and trucks. Most of the time when need to work on the head it is still in the vehicle and to torque them down can not just go to the 90 with out moving the wrench back to pull again.

Working on a 2013 Cadillac ATS with the 2.5L n.a. motor. Interesting design, not what I am used to working on. Anyways, head bolts call for; Step 1) 22ft/lbs Step 2) 190° This video was key about buying this torque wrench to use. If it works, why not. Thanks for the video man!

Have you tried the 1/4in digital one? I’m not sure what’s wrong with mine but I was using “in pounds” and it never once’s beeped, I was installing my intake on my 01 Suburban. And the 1st pass was 44 in pounds and the 2nd was 89. Well needless to say, I couldn’t get it to beep, plus the numbers were solid numbers meaning, it said, 440 I figured it would say 44.0 so I have no clue. I switched over to my clicker. Cause I had to make sure it was torqued! It’s the first time using it that one. I do have a 1/2 one and it works perfectly! Any suggestions? Thanks.! 🤝

Hey bro, thanks for the video! I'm really confused about something and I'm hoping you can clear it up. I torqued my heads yesterday and I'm not sure I did it correctly. OK, so the spec called out 22lb/ft for the first pass. I did that. Then, I switched the mode to angle. The display showed 360, but I didn't change that, I just torqued the bolt up to the angle I wanted and called it. Did I do this wrong by not setting up a preset torque value/angle? I didn't quite understand what the instructions were trying to tell me. Or is the way I did it ok? Thanks so much in advance and happy new year.
@WeekendWrenchTurner
@WeekendWrenchTurner Жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand what it was you did, but it sounds like as when you were using it in angle mode it wasn't telling you how many degrees it had gone in that motion? If I understand that right, it was not working properly as it will show you the angle you've gone and you can stop at your own discretion.
@asteriosanagnostou3243
@asteriosanagnostou3243 Жыл бұрын
@@WeekendWrenchTurner No, what I did was do one pass at 22ft. Then I switched to angle mode, didn't set the angle to any preset, left it at 360, did the next pass to the degrees I wanted and called it good. It did track degrees as soon as I started torquing the bolt.
@WeekendWrenchTurner
@WeekendWrenchTurner Жыл бұрын
Oh, got it. You're doing it right. You could set an angle so it beeps when you're getting close, etc, but either way works! Thanks for watching the video🍺👍
@asteriosanagnostou3243
@asteriosanagnostou3243 Жыл бұрын
@@WeekendWrenchTurner ok I think I gotcha, I guess what through me off was the initial torque value and how that relates to the angle. So sorry to belabor the point! Like what if I torqued all the bolts to 22lb/ft and came back the next day. Let's say when I turn the torque wrench on it shows 0lb/ft, I switch it to degrees and do the angle torquing then? Am I think WAYYYYY to much into it?
@WeekendWrenchTurner
@WeekendWrenchTurner Жыл бұрын
It's all good, but it think you're right in that you're thinking way too into it. There's other issues if you came back and that 22ft/lbs wasn't the torque value on those bolts.

Seems like at 175 it never quite hit the 175 mark, it most likely kept turning because either the fastener threads were yielding or the threads in the plate were yielding; pretty sure it would of just sheered the fastener head. Should use a 10.9 fastener instead of an 8, that particular size should yield at right around 185 ft lbs (around there). Unless I'm dead wrong, and if I am then I'm sure someone who's been "working with grade 8 bolts for 85 years" knows the EXACT data off the top of their head. Other than that, great demonstration of a tool anyone can afford.
@WeekendWrenchTurner
@WeekendWrenchTurner Жыл бұрын
Looking back, it did tear up the threads up on that plate. It was only 1/4" hot rolled, so it would have been better to use something thicker. Thanks for watching!!
