My kid brother and I each bought a lift about 5 years ago. Mine started failing last week. I was able to get it up bay jacking it up, relieve the pressure and jacking again. My brother has been laughing at me because he thought I bought a faulty piece of equipment. I'll be going over to his house and unscrewing that screw. I know he is planning on replacing the Steering Sector on his riding mower. He's one of those young kids (72) with no patience and he'll call me to go get another one. Then I'll screw the screw in. Thanks, this is going to be fun.

Thank you so much for this video! You were my life saver today. I've had this jack for a while and it has always worked perfectly. Today, it would not lift my riding mower. I got out the assembly manual, checked out the trouble shooting section, and was getting totally frustrated. Oil plug? I had no clue what to do. Then I found your video!! I adjusted the screw, but was a little worried when it didn't need too much turning to tighten. But it did the trick - good as new. Thanks again :D

Boom! Fixed. My screw was on the other side but once I screwed that in, she lifted right up. Another thing some folks can try is to leave their mower in neutral and the parking brake off. This makes it a little easier to lift.

Thank you sooo much I had already spent about 2 hours counting a trip to the parts store for hydraulic oil.while trying to follow the trouble shooting section in the instructions. I should have just checked U tube to start with as I already had it pulled up in my workshop to find assembly instructions(the ones that came with the tool were useless) Such a simple fix I couldn't believe it. you Rock!!!

Hell yeah man!!! You just saved me $110! (: I was about to return it and get the more expensive one thinking my garden tractor was too much weight because it would lift 2 5 gallon jugs of gas, but wouldn't lift the tractor....until I tightened that screw! (: Much appreciated.

Mine did that exact thing, so I bought a 4 ton Harbor Freight jack and swapped it out with the 2 ton jack and now I can lift my 61" zero turn with no problem. Wish I would of known of the adjustment screw, probably would of been an easier fix.

Thanks, that did the trick. Brand new lift, would work OK on somewhat lighter loads, but wouldn't raise the mower.

Liked your video. We have a mower lift that is fully extended after being tipped over. Have not been able to get the piston to go down. We have the pump out of the unit. It was having trouble pumping prior to this happening. Any suggestions?

Does this work when the foot pedal for the jack is frozen - ie doesn't go up or down?

Would you have any idea why my mower lift won’t come back down? Even if I put weight on it and unlock the locks, it may take a month for it to come down. I’ve tried playing with that screw and the little piston pushes in when the foot pedal is depressed but it stays up.

Well, I pulled off the red cap and tried to tighten it like you said all the way in and it would not jack up. Do I need to add fluid to it? I backed it out and then tightened it . Still nothing???

I have just the opposite problem. My lift will raise but will only lower about 1/4 of the way down. Glad I did not try with a mower the first time, used cinder blocks for weight to test it. What would be a possible fix for this issue?

I have the opposite problem mine won't go all the way down now no clue why any ideas? I bought mine at harbour freight. There isn't a screw where your's is but there are two screws on the back. One has a cross and the other just a slit.

Tried this mine is different I have two adjustments. If I tighten both down it will lift but not drop. So I have to loosen the left screw then it will go down, but then it won’t lift.tried all kinds of variations and won’t work properly with the release foot pedal, any ideas?

Put another Jack to hold your mower up. Or put stands under the wheels that are jacked up. Loosen the screw. You may have to manually lower the lift. Tighten the screw back in. See if it will pump back up. Then lower the mower. I would suggest pumping it up and down a few times to test before trusting it

Switching up videos is not kewl. My bottle jack has 2 foot pedals & no side screw...WTF 2 front screws but thats it...Which one lets it down My bottle jack won't release and come down...
