I have a 20+ year old 4 gallon, 2 HP, 2.6 scfm at 90 psi Campbell Hausfeld compressor. At 50 psi it should be adequate to meet the 50 psi, 3.5 cfm minimum air requirement, yet when I tried it, no media would move through the blaster. The media was Harbor Freight's 80 grit glass bead same as you are using. I could see it lying in the air bleed hole at the exit from the container. After some thinking, I took the gun apart and found it was assembled wrong. The nozzle inside has a gasket and an O ring. The nozzle had been assembled and inserted backwards. The nozzle has small hole which should go towards the ceramic nozzle. That small hole is centered right above the media input. It is what creates the vacuum via the Venturi effect to pull the media up. When it was put in backwards, a large hole was over the media input which created almost no vacuum. It works fine now even with a small compressor.

Came over to this video because the other one had too much BS. Really helped me stay informed and entertained. Since it will take glass bead, it will qualify for ADA texturing according to local and state regulation.

You can use white vinegar two or three gallons put it inside a 5 gallon bucket let it sit submerged overnight take it out the next day with a heavy stream of water wash it off wipe it then down with a clean Rag and then lightly oil it it'll be as good as new. You might have to get a toothbrush to get into hard-to-reach areas of the tools or other type of tools to get in there and scrub the crap out very efficient.

Kudos for talking about the safety gear! DIYers tend to neglect that. (mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! Scars to prove it.) DIYers take note. DO pay attention to safety. Err on the side of caution. As a result of your video, I'm buying one. A shop charges $25 to sand blast an item. Two items, and it pays for itself.

@@themechanic6117 saw in another video that crushed walnut shells are too coarse. Going to try a finer media. My air compressor is very large, I'm pretty sure that isn't the problem. Thoughts?

Ive never tried crushed walnuts so that may be a issue. Like i said mine doesnt spray media consistently either. Its more like on off on off with mine while holding the trigger

Funny guy! Loved the review and thank you for NOT UNBOXING ON VIDEO! That’s the dumbest biggest waste of time I’ve ever seen in videos. It’s annoying and useless. Great job all around!

How long do you think it would take to sand blast a whole car?

I wouldnt even try that. You'd spend more money in blast material than what it cost to pay professionals to do it

Great video. I have a 60 gallon compressor and I am hopeful this will work for me. I want to remove rust from horseshoes I do projects with. I am trying to cut back on the time I spend at the wire wheel getting rust off. I do not have room for a cabinet in my garage, but a very large back yard with about half covered with decomposed granite. Hopefully this unit will do the trick. Thanks for posting.
