@@themechanic6117 19:00 what is that ring or washer you put on joint?
@themechanic61174 күн бұрын
@rodik6816 oh that's a spacer , if you don't install that spacer the wheel bearing won't be clamped down when you tighten the axle nut and the wheel bearing will be destroyed very quickly

Do the spindles actually need grease? I completed my install with grease.
@themechanic61174 күн бұрын
I don't think it's necessary to put grease on the spindle since the bearing isn't spinning on that surface but everything over here's rusts so it's to help keep rust away and help the bearing to come off easier next time

After setting everything and making sure the colored links were in the correct locations(two dots on cam gears and mark down at crank gear), I turned the engine a couple of rotations and back to lining the timing marks up but the colored links seem to be out of position. The tensioner is in place and everything but the colored links don't line up in the locations I set them up in any longer when I am at top dead center cylinder 1. What gives?
@themechanic61176 күн бұрын
That's normal. As long as the timing marks line up then it's good. Every time the chain rotates a full revolution the colored links will be off by another tooth. Eventually they'll all align again but it would take many revolutions. As long as the marks (not the colored links ) line up it will be fine.
@cobbysparks98916 күн бұрын
I just found out that after timing the system to the colored link, links don’t mean anything anymore. As long as the timing marks on the cams sprockets are correct. Apparently after so many turns they will line up again. But that would be 20,30,40 or 70 who knows? I got it right.

You don’t need to run a pcv valve if you’re running a catch can. Catch can will vents crank case pressure to atmosphere. Pcv route the crank case back to the intake to burn in the combustion chamber.
