Harbor Freight Vulcan Outlaw 195 Welder/Generator

I picked up a used Vulcan Outlaw 195 on Marketplace. This thing is a beauty, hardly used. Stay tuned for a more in-depth review on it, once I get to play with it.

I believe the item you are referring to is a charcoal canister for the fuel tank vent.

Definitely on the way. I've already had two jobs to use it on. Today I got it mounted in the truck. I've got shop work to do this week, but I will get it done really soon. So far I've burned 6013, 7014, 7018 in all sizes and have been very impressed. I will pick up some 1/8 6010 tomorrow and run that. So far, it's handled everything flawlessly. If I remember right, it has 100% duty cycle at 107amps. But even at (I think) 135 amps it's 60%. But really, who welds for that long? You burn a rod up in less than a minute, stop and grind. Drink water. I think in 23 years, I've only hit duty cycle on a machine 2 times.

Just any field work and frequency of use. I just added 75 foot leads to mine as leads are a little too short.

@user-xs7db7lm5t dude, thanks for asking. Yes, everything is fine. I have been getting hammered lately. It's been crazy. People always say "that's a good problem to have", but actually it's not. I would like to make another video with the Outlaw. I just don't know what to do. I have a gate build job to do Tuesday, I may see about doing something with that. I will bring my camera/tripod with me. Any requests?

Well.... I say it will. But let me test that out. I just got it, so I have some playing to do. But I'm pretty sure it will that would be good for you to weld, while a helper grinds. Yeah.. I'm pretty sure it will though.

So did it weld and grind at same time ? 7018 and 6010 burn good ?

@garrettmoyer1455 yes. It does. The reason for flupping the switch to weld mode is so it won't bog the machine down and kill it. And, it burns 6010 like butter. The reason these new inverters won't do 6010 is because they have a really low open circuit voltage of around 25. You've got to have at least 50 at a minimum. This Outlaw has a open circuit voltage of 73v. Plenty for 6010. Last week I made a pentle hitch bumper for a dump truck using 3/4" plate. The Outlaw burned 1/8 and 5/32 6010, and 7018 without a single problem. I'm so impressed with this machine. I know I keep saying this, but I'm still going to do a better video about it. I've just been so busy. If you can find one of these machines, get one! That's all I can say. It is awesome.

Went into harbor freight today… they said they are no longer carrying them and they just sold the display model :( maybe they will have a new model coming soon

Uh... good luck with that. I know the HF website always says "Back in stock soon", I don't think it's happening. If it does, I'm getting another one for sure! Check Marketplace and be prepared to drive to get it. It's worth it.

@themexicanjesus3079 you may be right. I've had 2 subscribers tell me this week that they were able to order one online. By the way... I've been having trouble with mine. 3 of the 7 bolts that hold down the crank case cover keep backing out, I assume from vibration, and the fact they don't have loctite or split washers. To fix it, I ha e to separate the generator from the engine. I'm doing it tomorrow and making a video about it. Hopefully, I will upload it tomorrow night so keep an eye out for it.
