Harbor & Ocean Water - Building a Beginners Model Railroad from ground up.

Assembling the dock sides and creating realistic ocean water surface including white caps, swell and foam effects.
- We´re building a beginners style Model Railroad from start to end in only 18 days -
The Model Railroad measures 1.5 x 2.5m (5 x 8ft) and can therefore be built in most bed- and living rooms. The trackplan geometrics are following industry standards, so you are free to chose the type of tracks you favor.

Super informative with outstanding results! Your detail on what materials you used is most appreciated. I worked for a consumer paper goods company for many years, and I'm sure that the engineer who designed the emboss pattern on the converting machine producing the toilet paper you used would be amused by your method of nullifying all his/her hard work while creating your water model. That phthalocyanine paint is commonly simply pronounced "thay-lo green". That's what Bob Ross called it when he used it in oil painting :) It's an inorganic, copper based green pigment :)

I found that the clippings from DYI furnace filter trees makes for amazing weeds, and very well worth saving! I’ve used them in my lumber yard and as marine foliage on my water sections over using store bought flocks

Great. I need to try this for making a river. I read somewhere that the white poly-fibers are also good for making bigger foam on the wave (at least in bigger scales). Klear (aka Future) would also make a good gloss varnish, and smooth the paper.

It looks amazing 😀 but i think one could get away without the gel or 💯 layers of gloss varnish .. it would still look great .. i bet if you build a harbor which is hit by a storm .. it would even look better in a matte varnish style .. simulates a cloudy sky ..
