Damn you're good at explaining how to play a game. Im not kidding, some of my games I actually wait to open and play with the hope that you'll do a video on it. Star Wars Imperial Assualt is an example of such.

Thank you Rodney. I just purchased this at Dice Tower Con, brought it to play in my downtime at work, and could not for the life of me figure it out based on the poorly written rulesheet. You made this game simple and easy to understand. You are a true hero in the board gaming world.

Thanks Rodney -- we bought this game a couple of weeks ago -- we have played it once -- using the identical player building side. I must admit although the rules are short we did find them a bit confusing. I am sure our next game -- when we play with different starting buildings -- will go much more smoothly if we watch your clear explanation first.

What happens if you have twice the number of goods the market requires? Do you get double the gold or is the current price the maximum you can receive that turn?
@WatchItPlayed
@WatchItPlayed 9 жыл бұрын
The current price is always the maximum. So it's less efficient to ship a good, when you have lots of it, but only need a little.

Hey, I'd love to assist further, but I cover so many different games on the channel, I'm not able to assist with rules around specific cards. That said, there is a rules forum for this game on BoardGameGeek, and you might find the answer there! boardgamegeek.com/forum/1525231/harbour/rules - hope that helps!

My rules say after 4th building each player gets a final turn, not 5. Do I have old rules?
@WatchItPlayed
@WatchItPlayed 9 жыл бұрын
You have it right, when I mention the 5th building, I'm including the starting building you have on your player sheet. So, after you've bought your fourth building (which will be your 5th building in total), each player gets one more turn.

Hey Rodney Love your videos and the content you put out! Helps me a lot when bringing games over to my friends when we're learning. However, I had a question regarding the rule at 5:12. You mention later at around 5:27 that you can't move to the building if you can't perform the action. My question is, do you not perform the action 'to the best of your ability' and then stay at the building? I'm not super clear on the rules and couldn't see anywhere in the rules booklet that you can't move to the building if you can't perform the action. Also regarding buying buildings. Can I move to a building then perform a buy action or do I only have a choice of moving or buying? Thanks!
@WatchItPlayed
@WatchItPlayed 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the confusion there. An FAQ was later released, and this might have the answers you are looking for: boardgamegeek.com/thread/1319084/harbour-faq I've been away from the game long enough now, that I'm not entirely certain myself (except to say that after checking the rules, it does appear that you can go to a building even if you can't fulfill all of its requirements).

Have you had a chance to play through the solo training rules? If so, did you find there to be many order of operations or rule ambiguities in it? Just curious how straight forward it is, since the back of that card looked like a mountain of text. Thanks.
@WatchItPlayed
@WatchItPlayed 9 жыл бұрын

@BenThorp
@BenThorp 9 жыл бұрын
Matthew Cozza I've had a brief look at the solo play - most of the game plays exactly the same. The text merely describes how the training dummy decides it's moves - essentially it moves to the next available building each turn and performs the action if possible. It chooses which goods to trade based on market value. When it gets to it's own building, it buys if it can afford to. Some of the cards are too clever for it, and you skip those. Once you get into it, it's fairly simple. The downside is that it's rules are on the back of it's card, which can get annoying when you first start.
@matthewcozza610
@matthewcozza610 9 жыл бұрын
Ben Thorp Thanks for that quick description. Would you say the solo play is provides a decent challenge? Or is it fairly easy to solve the "dummy player puzzle"?
@BenThorp
@BenThorp 9 жыл бұрын
I've not played it enough to know for sure; obviously his moves are somewhat predictable, but because of the building varieties he will "change" each time. Some of the guys on BGG were setting challenges based on the number of turns to beat him too.
