Hello, dear teacher! One of my English mystery are the names of baby animals. Is there any logic behind why we call a baby dog a "pup" and a baby cow a "calf"?

There's no grammatical logic. But, everything needs to be called something.

Sir, In "Yes, that is a good idea" "a good idea" is a complement, not an object since the verb "is" is a linking verb. Sir, you said that it is an object. Sir, am I right, or both you & I are right?

you can consider them both right. An object is also a type f complement. And, the verb 'is' can also take an object. So, you can call them both object and complement.
